This isn't new. I've been paying insurance since I bought it. Yes that was a surprise back then, but shouldnt be a surprise to anyone who owns one...

That's way damn kids want EVOs but usually can't afford them. Unless they are spoiled brats living at home under mom's roof and having their parents fork up the dough...

This has been posted before, but yes it's true. There are quite a few Evo drivers who cannot handle their cars and crash them. The way I see it, if you can afford a $30k car then you can afford a $1000 driving school.

dont know why evo's insurance rate is so high. Its 4 door, yes it has turbo but bmw 335i, volvo, vw has turbo. Awd so wont slip in the snow like other cars.
Only thing i can think of is no side air bag. I'm guessing evo had terrible crash rating. paying 800 per 6months(25 no accident no ticket ever) full coverage

Just want to point out that despite having AWD, any AWD car will still slip in an identical manner to non-AWD cars! AWD will help you in getting off the line & accelerating initially, but will do nothing for you once you are rolling, turning or braking (we are talking street driving here, so all you that are about to jump on me about extracting max performance at the limits, please don't as this is not applicable in street driving).

Your AWD car will still have the same traction as any FWD or RWD car while rolling, turning or braking. There is nothing magic in an AWD system that help you roll, turn or stop. It will stop like any other car out there and the limits will be based on your tires, pads, brake system & road conditions, not your AWD in the car.

When you drive in the snow, why do you mostly see 4wd SUV's in the ditches? Maybe they think their 4wd SUV "won't slip in the snow like other cars".
