question about spark plugs, can evo 9 plugs fit a evo 8?

okay well i went to my friends shop to get my spark plugs changed, he used ngk laser iridum plugs, but when i was looking at the lancershop website, they only have the laser iridum plugs for evo 9.

so i am thinking hmmm, did he put evo 9 spark plugs in my car? i think i read that evo 9 plugs are too long so it would not fit anyways but i just want to clarify that?

please someone let me know asap.

The Evo 9 plugs threads are longer than the Evo 8's.

Wrong end, the threaded end is longer. I would think a longer threaded IX plug, would hit the piston on a VIII.

Actually the electrode would stick further into the cylinder which may(not 100% sure) cause the piston to hit them. The coils would go on fine. Like I said, the threads are longer.

If they were hitting, your car wouldn't be running right now. You should be fine.

Dude, no one can help you without a part #. Get the brand and part number of the plug or stop posting. WE CANNOT GUESS OUT OF THE THOUSANDS OF PLUGS IN THE WORLD WHAT IS INSTALLED.
