My evo IX review
My evo IX review
I've had my evo IX SE for about 2 weeks now and put on about 1000 miles and it has been a blast to drive. It is definitely easiest car to drive fast. I wouldn't say I love everything about the car but I there's nothing that I dislike either, just a few observations I like to share.
I hear everything in this car. Tires on the road, the engine and drivetrain all let you know what is going on with the car. Injector ticks are really loud.
It makes pretty good daily driver, I've read some reviews about evo IX where they complain about the ride quality. But I found the ride is pretty comfortable, the seats really keep you in place and alcantara is so soft... You do feel all the bumps on the road but really it's not bad at all. Stock cd player was pretty weak (no MP3?). After I got a new CD-player the I was really surprised how well the speakers sounded.
It's a blast to drive around in the country roads, handling is superb and chassis feels really stiff, it never feels like the power is overwhelming the chassis. But the turning radius, hmmm... not so much. It took me sometime to get used the the parking.
I don't get the whole teenagers wanting to race me either
. I attribute this to car being apex silver and having a stock exhaust.
Overall I think it's a great car to drive, it definitely get the ice cream home before it melts.

Good review. I agree with a lot that you had to say. I believe that when buying a EVO it is important that somebody does their homework before buying the car. I don't understand some of the complaints I hear about the car when these are things that should have already been known before purchasing the car. Good luck with your car and I advise you to continue to read through the threads to learn more about your purchase. If you have questions, almost all of them have already been posted and answered in the forums.

............Your car has so much potential that I'm guessing you don't realize just how fast this car can be, but if you do, then good luck and fun with MODDING.

the ice cream gets home before it melts, but that's if it stays in the cone/cup from cornering... i've gotten mad at my gf a few times for not holding onto food/drinks when i told her to cuz i wanted to "drive" the evo hahah
100% true. I agree that the car is not bad as far as comfort goes. The magazines thrashed the suspension as far as comfort goes. I didn't think it was "uncivil." Turning radius is absolutely hideous. The only bad thing about my car now is the fact that on long trips the exhaust note gets really old really quickly. I can't blast the radio for 5 hours straight! Trust me, cops don't care about color for our cars! They see the wing and the spoiler and hear the BOV or exhaust and you're toast! Three times for me!
i'm guessing you drive the car like you should.. i tend to drive very conservatively and havent had any problems from popos luckily, but i think that's going to change with each additional modification =D
When it is really quite outside, I can hear the injectors tick when I have my windows down. And you can really hear it under the hood.
Well, thats only if you change the stocker to a vent-to-atmoshere bov... the stockers dont make any noticable noise since they dump the air back into the intake tract... unless they changed to a vta bov for the '07's... which would be news to me
