Greddy Racing Full Titanium Exhaust

Few questions about this exhaust:

1) Is this exhaust legal? It's worse enough as it is that I live in California, but is this exhaust street legal? I've heard that it wasn't, but I really want it, so I need to make sure.

2) Every website I go to says it is for Evolutions 03-05, but I'm going to purchase an 06 MR, can I still use the exhaust?

3) Does it really matter which vendor I buy from? Just as long as they dont scam me, I should be good right? No quality difference, no size difference, nothing? Just price differences?

4) Any fitment issues with this exhaust? I've read up that the exhaust comes up short of being flush with the bumper, so I was planning to use spacers. How do these "spacers" work? And do they in anyway affect the airflow in the exhaust?

5) Some pictures trick my eyes, but I wanted to make sure, does this exhaust angle out JDM style? Or is it straight out? I've seen some pictures where I can tell its straight out, but then some pictures look angled out. Or, could it be that you can go either way? LOL I'm lost on this one =P

I know that the Greddy Racing Full Titanium Exhaust is expensive, but I really like most, if not all, the aspects of this exhaust. I was going to go with the JunBL exhaust, but if I wanted to get a JDM bumper, I would have to modify the exhaust to fit it. And it might be just me, but I dont like cutting up/bending exhausts that arent custom. Hopefully you guys will help me out, I appreciate this! Thanks in advance! =]

P.S. Sorry I came up with another one, but since the exhaust is not stainless steel, will it rust?

Wow, lottsa questions. Since you will be going with the JDM rear bumper then clearance/length should pose no problem. Exit is angled ala JDM look. CB's that fit 03'05 Evos should fit the IX w/o problems. Exit clearance with respect to centering in bumper cutout is adjustable. The Ti material doesn't noticeably oxidize.

I have the Magnecor Ti CB and it, like the Greddy is pretty loud especially w/o a cat. I don't know about the noise regulations in your state/community. It may be quiet enough if you use the cat. Ask on SoCal Evo for California opinions on the Greddy. I bought my Ti exhaust used off a guy in Riverside County and his car was catless. It is a bit loud though.

Wow thanks so much, enlightened a lot by one response. Okay so how would you go about centering the exhaust on a stock IX bumper? Would you be able to make it look straight? What would you need to do that?

Also, because it does come short of the actual stock IX bumper, how do exhaust spacers work? Is there a website that could show me how they work? I've googled it but only seen what they look like, and how much they are. Do they restrict air flow? Thanks again!

Mine is a Magnaflow Ti in cojunction with my JDM VIII bumper. Now I've read that the Magnaflow and Greddy Ti's are identical. However, I've never confirmed this with a visual comparison.

I realize that the USDM bumper is bulgier and that the exhaust tip won't extend out beyond the bumper as far. Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the "spacers" which you mention. The cleanest solution from my point of view, would be to switch to the JDM IX bumper. Or you could have a 2" long section of exhaust pipe welded in at some strtegic point along the length of your CB. Finally, you might wanna try one of those carbon fibre bumper heatshields.

The tip exits at a 30* angle( on the horizontal plane)out through the bumper cutout. Due to the exit angle and the tip's large diameter there is the chance of contact with the bumper if the exhaust isn't centered just right.

It's best to use Kartboy poly hangers to locate the exhaust. Also, since Greddy uses hollow rod as hangers, you can bend these to assist in centering and alignment location.

Oh,I almost forgot some good news: Since these exhaust have slip-fit as opposed to bolt flanges for joining the main sections...you will be able to increase and/or shorten the overall length of your exhaust by several inches which should allow you to extend the tip out far enough to compesateyour for the USDM bumper. So. length is adjustable! No need to use spacers

Okay woah woah....before we get any further here..there are different Greddy Ti's out there.

The one that we get here in America is NOT slip fit. It does have fitment issues for some people (including me)

With the stock bumper you can get it to sit in the middle, you have to adjust the clamp on the muffler.

The exhaust will come up short. Meaning the tip won't come far enough to the back of the car. So it has a chance of melting your bumper a bit like it did to mine. That is why I bought the JDM bumper and kartboy hangers and now it sits almost perfect.

The exhaust has a slight angle to it.

Lastly it is NOT LEGAL here. It is too loud for California laws, but I have actually been pulled over with it on and the cop said that it didn't sound that loud. But that is because I was not really gassing it. So basically you can get away with this exhaust here, but you can't be stupid either. If you go flying past a cop full throttle you can bet your *** that you are getting a ticket for it.

Haha yay! finally a californian! I was thinking that, just as long as I dont full throttle passed a cop, I should be good. If you dont mind me asking, what is your set up? DP, HFC or TP, and do you run a silencer?

And did you get a fix-it ticket from getting pulled over that one time?

Nope I ended up getting a ticket for no front plate. The cop actually commented on the exhaust. He said "you have a modified exhaust" to which I replied "Yep"....then he said...."Well it's not that loud, so I don't really mind it"

Keep in mind it is up to the officers discretion whether they want to give you a ticket for the exhaust. That is Cali law. So one officer might think it's okay...then another might be in a bad mood and give you a ticket. So be careful.

I have this setup:

Garage HRS Down pipe
Vishnu HFC
Greddy Ti

Oh and DO NOT run the silencer whatever you do. The version we get here doesn't come with one anyway, but it robs power even more than the stock exhaust. So there is really no point in using a silencer.

If you want a quiet exhaust that makes power get a Fujitsubo RM01A and you can get it in full Ti as well. I know the normal version is quiet, never heard the Ti one I am sure it is louder.

And my tuner has driven the car while I was outside. It's really not that loud when driving normally, but when you get on it then it gets loud. So once again....choose your moments to step on it.

Usually I step on it only if I need to or if I am getting on the freeway, but I always check my rearview first.

Is there any way to make the Ti sit flush with the USDM bumper without modifying the catback itself? I remember reading that one member used 2 3/4 exhaust spacers to do it, but would like to get another opinion.
