I've just reacently purchased cams for my Evo IX MR and from my understanding its a bit tricky to install the INTAKE cam. So if anyone has any info on how to install that cam that would help. No one where I live has done a MIVEC cam swap yet so all the help would be great.

It's not much different than the Exhaust cam in the sense you have a CAS on the end of the cam. About the only other difference is the fact you need a 14mm hex to remove the cover on the MIVEC cam gear in order to access the bolt which holds the gear to the cam.

yeah somebody who's very fluent with swapping/intalling cams should really do a write-up....that would be very great

Does anybody know where I can find instructions on a Cam install for an Evo 9. I'm installing a set of GSC S1 cams and could use some 'Just in Case' instructions.

yea a write up would be very helpful with all the little bits of info from other members that ive seen you just have to keep the oil thats in that cap on the intake cam off the timeing belt with a rag or somthing?

go to evomoto they have a really nice writeup but it is for the 8 but both are basically the same except for the intake cam, but its not hard at all. We just did mine on my IX just make sure you bleed the lifters very good.

the trick is def. the intake cam...
have some rags to stuff down in the belt cover, it will lose a little oil when you unbolt it.
do the exhaust cam first, if its your first time (use the evomoto writeup if you have too)... I recommend doing one cam at a time....
the intake cam is tricky, break the aluminum hex nut with a 14mm allen wrench..... then there is a 14mm bolt underneath that....once that is removed you are basically doing the same thing as the exhaust cam...
when putting the new cam in, I recommend putting a mark on the cam length wise, to make it easier to know where the dowel pin is, because you cant see it when putting the intake cam on, this will make it easier.
cheers
