Time to upgrade?

So I've had my Evo IX MR for a couple months now and the dreaded moment I feared has come. I'm used to it It just doesn't have that feeling when I first turned the key and hit that gas and thought omg this car is too fast and will eventually kill myself lol.

Since it is my daily driver nothing too crazy planned and I already have a Apexi GT spec from cat exhaust. Thinking about getting a intake next just wondering if that would be the next good move for a mod? Thinking maybe the HKS RS kit? So if any of you have any suggestions on intake kits or what to mod next please share.

start by going to ams or buschur or some other vendors website and check out what they have... if something interestes you then do a search on the forum to see what ppl have had to say about the product...

start with a turbo back exhaust, there are many out there, a k&N drop in filter replacement, manual boost controller, and a tune.

These should be your first mods. I have these mods and it made a huge difference. Good luck

Get a 3" dp, 3" tp or hf cat installed to mate to your current catback

Then add buschur open air filter and a tune....if your going to get a tune you might as well get a cone filter installed so its tuned around that, they do help the turbo breath better in the upper rpms despite what others claim.

I would do this:

fuel pump
boost gauge
manual boost controller
turbo back exhaust
air filter
tune

my suggestion is very simple... get a k&n filter, custom made the housing and insulate it with r14 air bubble/foil to reduce hot temp from engine.. then you have yourself a short ram air intake at fraction of the cost.... yes if you want to make it looks nice you need to paint the housing which is do-able.

downpipe is always going to help but not sure how fitment is going to work as i'm sure there are some rubbing issues. those who have downpipe from different vendors by all means please share your findings.

boost control is desireable too... but ultimately you want better maps... so check out your vendors here and see who will support you in the long run. you want driveability as well as reliablity.

I'm used to my car after a year as well, but I don't have any desire to upgrade. The initial honeymoon is over, but like a marriage, you have to work at making things exciting because upgarding can be expensive. These cars do depreciate pretty quick and upgrading will probably produce the same experience after a year? I would be willing to bet you would regret the decision unless you are after more creature comforts.

I would not waste $ on the intake. Just get a drop in K&N and save for a ECU flash and DP.
