S2K Antenna doesn't fit very well????

so after searching on this board I found information telling me that the S2k antenna fits EVOS. So I went to Honda and I told the guy I want an S2k antenna. He said that the S2K and Honda Element antenna are the same and that he has them in stock. So I pick one up for $22, go home to find out that it does not fit flush.

Either I am doing something wrong or the S2K antenna is not a great fit.

Dude, you're complaining cause the HONDA antenna doesn't fit on your MITSU Evo????
You should have gotten the Evo antenna from Gruppe-S.

Relax buddy not complaining. Just letting others know it's not a perfect fit. Didn't even know Gruppe-S sold them so I will give them a call.

Thanks

+1. LoL. Spend the extra $2 and get the antenna made for the car.

alot of the time aftermarket ones dont give anywhere near perfect radio reception. I've heard the forge and another big name, i think perrin, idk. but they sounded horrible..

I picked up the s2k one from a friend trading in his car and put it on, perfect!

Theres a small gap, so i used black gasket filler since its flexible and water proof, filled in the hole and smoother it out with my finger and it looks 110% factory now. even from close up.

Cheers!

The s2k antenna and element are NOT the same.
S2k has a groove towards the bottom and has a "head" at the top.
Element is completely smooth from top to bottom.

here is my element antenna

Humm thanks guys I got the wrong antenna. I will return it and go with the Honda Element antenna. Mine looks like the one on the yellow S2K that EVO Tengoku posted.

Thanks for The Help

Same problem I had on my old SRT-4. The aftermarket antennas reception was horrible.

Honda antennas fit perfectly with the vortex generator.
But you would have to trim it whether you get the S2k or Element antenna to fit properly without the vortex generator I believe.

The one from Gruppe-S is an authentic Mitsu Evo antenna.....not an aftermarket antenna.
