Hello Im new here as you can see.

I'm about to purchase an EVO IX but I want to know what is better for modding.

The EVO IX GSR or the MR?

I know the exterior and interior difference between the GSR and the MR. but I want to know more about the mechanical part. Does the 6SPEED MR handle more power better than the 5SPEED GSR?

I want to see if its better to go the 6SPEED route for future modding. Thanks for your time!

 

no the gsr is better to mod for multiple reasons...
1. the 6 speed mr tranny is notoriousely weak and people always have problems with gears
2. the gear ratios suck on the 6 speed
3. why spend the extra 6k for some wheels and some shocks when you will probably be replacing them anyways
4. the best 2 evos are the rs and the ix se. the se is great because it has the aluminum roof and all the other good stuff that makes it worth the extra $$ unless you were thinking of going like cf roof...

just my honest opinion....

RS would be best investment if you plan on modding
