All GT 37R owners please speak up

Ok as some of you might know im in a bind on which turbo to go with, I started a thread titled.....Which turbo AMS 50 trim, GT35R, or 37R. I have done vast amounts of research on all these turbo and many others and gotten inputs from well knowledged EvoM users. I was leaning towards the 37R kinda at first but then got quickly turned from that then I went towards a 50 trim but now back in the same boat. So if all GT 37R owners could inform me on their experiences with the turbo. I know that basic things should be upgraded with this turbo like headstuds, some valve work, rod bolts, etc. So I need all input before I buy my turbo.......I only wanna go through buying a turbo once, wanna get it right the first time around.........thanks

You might want to include what you are going to use the car for, this will help determine the turbo selection. Also if you are going to run just pump, race or alky/water injection of some sort. The more information the better for those who want to help.

Like I said before plan on close to 15k for a complete build if you want to do it right, if not more.

I was the guy who took 4 times to get it right and went through several set-ups until I went with the Buschur 37R. I have had it now for over a year and I haven't looked back once.
I had the 35R and the 37R spools just as fast and you get a lot more power. It's a great turbo for the street and drag. You can easily hit a 9 sec in the 1/4, and if you want to play on the streets you can eat new Vipers while your on pump gas. The look on their face is worth the cost of the build.
I know from experience on both of these turbos, go for the BR37R. Any more info don't hesitate to ask or PM.
FWIW: My car just made 520WHP on pump gas ALONE on Buschur's dyno. That's enough for a mid 10 sec. @ 135 in the 1/4.... on just pump NO ALKY!

I believe 23 psi.... I'll have to double check with Dave. The car is at the shop as we speak. Maybe he or JRod will chime in.

I don't want to hack the thread from IVERSON3270. Here is a post from last year that should help. I'm actually making a little more now.

you might wanna put some $ into your engine. stock wont be able to handle that. need at least a 2.2 + to have that turbo be running nice.

Not quite true.... with a fully built 2.0 or 2.1l you can rev it alot higher and make use of the power that turbo will provide (imo).

EVOlunchbox feel free to take it as Im trying to learn all I can from advanced members. As far as my car goes I do not daily drive it, I drive it about 1 day a week and 2 at the most. The question is in those days how much hell do I give my car well not much. I very seldom get on my car I really have to have a reason to nail it. Dont get me wrong im sure when I get a bigger turbo I will get on it at first just to she what its got but that will die out soon. I have done the research and you should do valve work because you will be revving higher and you want to advoid valve float, you want studs and rods. I would like to keep the car on pump and race gas, I really dont know to much about alky and would I really need a rebuilt if I dont daily drive the car?
