Stock IX Tune only, What & How it affect

Stock IX Tune only, What & How it affects the engine & Warranty?
Hi ! Does anyone know What benefits would it be if I would to get a Tune Only on a stock IX? What would the affects be: (1) Would Smog Pass (in 6 years from now.) (2) Would Dealer find out, and would they void warranty (3) Does it produce a richer mixture and foul out the plug, if any smoke (4) what are positive and negatives.(5)Any recommendations on where to take it to in the Rancho Penasquito, Poway, Mira mesa area? (6) How much should I pay? (Not worry about $, as long as it's good)
Lately I have been followed by the Police, for whatever reason I don't know. When they see that I have a family and am a mature indivdual they leave me alone and U turn away. But the same time I like a little more power, but I don't want to be hassle therefore I want to keep the appearance stock. So I thought about what if just get a tune. Your positive comments would be appreciated, Thanks!

1. yes
2. doubtful. If the car is stock, why would they look? The may however reflash to stock maps if there's some sort of updated version through Mitsu.
3. It would actually be leaner in places to extract more power. Plugs will be cleaner. Less smog for emissions.
4. Positives- more power, cleaner emissions...
Negatives- NONE.
5&6. Depends onthe tuner and if you do an Eflash or mail in. Some tuners travel also. Watch for posts and/or check local boards for a schedule of tuners coming to an area close by.

Cops follow any foreign car with a wing or what could be an aftermarket exhaust. Get used to it.

I appreciate your answer. I found on the "Tuning" forum information about Flashes: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/fo...play.php?f=179 There is a warning message that such mod could be dangerous that everyone new should read.
I once supercharged a car, and there was a mod for ECU change to enriched it. I started to get knocks. Since it would be leaner, do you think; it'll develop it?

When you SC a or turbo a car that doesn't have forced induction, upgrade a turbo or otherwise start pushing MORE air into a motor, you need to add more fuel to the mix to even out the ratios.
Since you will just be "tuning", you can safely back a little fuel off. The cars come stock VERY conservative from the factory and the engineers don't know what elevation you'll be driving it in or how hard. Since it's safer to run more fuel than less, they keep the stock trims rich.
As far as the warning about the mod being "dangerous". Yes, in the hands of someone who doesn't know what he's doing, you could easily blow your motor by changing the wrong settings. As long as you get your flash or eflash maps from a reputable tuner, you'll have NOTHING to worry about.

yeah, thats Wheel Horse Power
stock without a tune is about 235/230 - 240/240 depending on your car
with tune & boost pill/boost controller add about 30 whp/wtq
this in on CA 91octane, You in North or south California, plenty of tuners in bay area
