Yeah man, take it off. I REALLY doubt it's mandatory to have bumper "cover".

Wish yah the best in your difficult situation.

You should be fine without the bumper cover.

Seriously, if your car is that bad off, shouldn't you look into a rental? Don't destroy your car by driving it around damaged as Hell...

call the insurance and ask so that it doesn't look like you're trying to make the damage look worse or something and give them an excuse to not pay.

The only problem i see with that is in some states (IL) it is illegal to drive w/out a front plate. Doesnt usually get called out but still...

kinda mad with ins

sorry idk where my old thread went anyways so today about 20 days later actually almost 24 days the lady`s insurance called back saying they will only give me $1389 for my damager where as my body shop quoated as 3 grand.

They refuse to to put back oem parts, they refused to let my body shop take care of the damage saying they are just jacking up the prices.

I`m actually pretty mad and confused as what to do because i know the damage is way more than $1300 My old car was a cavalier and i just smashed the bumper and got 3 grand for it.

What can i do this is really bad situation for me.

Read your policy very closely... You get what you pay for sometimes with ins... I make sure my policy covers OEM parts and body shop of my choice... My old crappy ins co wouldn't even offer that... BTW, im with Progressive now, no issues ever...

yeah except that its not my insrance company its the lady who slammed into me. They have been very weird not returning my calls avoiding me then being very rude every time i`m on the phone even when `im calm and trying to be proffessional.

All they said was i could refuse their claim go to my insurance get it fixed and let them battle it out.

Have they sent you a check yet? If so, did you cash it? If you did, you already accepted the offer... Lets see the damage, I have my car in shop right now, getting new front bumper, new front door skin, new rear quarter panel, new lower front lip, inner fender, etc... Its only $3100 in repairs and paint...

Id say they are on the low side, but only by a few bucks really.... OEM cover and fender are sooo much cheaper for that model than my 04...

PS, im getting my work done at the best body shop around, it takes him a long time, but the work is awesome... Used to do all our work at the dealership on damaged new cars... Anyhow, my damage was much more than that and its costing $3100... Good luck getting more out of them, but I would say that 3K is not gonna happen... I wouldn't pay 3K to get that fixed at least...

Yeah, im sure they are good, but I can also see why the Ins doesn't wanna pay more given how much work my car is recieving for the cost... Get some quotes from a few other shops maybe? Mine varied from $1300 (crappy shop though, you could see the dirt in the paint 15 feet away) to $4,000...
