How to increase highway speed?
I'm gettin my Evo tommorow, and I heard that on highway is not as good as it should be... It's gonna be 03 Black, stock to the bone.
I was just wondering, what parts to add first so I can increasy the highway speed. I just don't know where to start... and also which laser detector works good?

That is a very broad question but I would start with:
Once you do that you will feel a huge difference in how the car runs.
- 3" turbo back exhaust
- Manual boost controler
- drop in filter or intake which ever you prefer
- finally get it tuned

Let me just say that if you plan on freeway racing, I hope you get caught...not trying to be an a$$, but it's "freeway racers" that give our cars a bad rep and have the cops breathing in our face, even when the car is 100% stock. If you are planning to do some road race (at a track) or some time trial stuff at a track that has a few straightaways, then it might make a little sense to ask that question. The 4 things that Brad mentioned will do a lot for the car. The only other part I would consider just for safe measure would be to throw in a high flow fuel pump as well. As for the laser detector...well, you're not always gonna be able to detect an upcoming cop...especially if he's not on radar. Good luck.

Thanx for recomendations.. I just want my Evo to good all around... I hate when people say "well, Evo is good, but not on the highway" I love the car, and I want to make it even better... and once in a while, I probably will run into a STI or S4, that will want to race on highway... I'm not saying I will do it all the time.

But I think your question is a good one. I've heard cams are good for top end power as well but I have to to put them in so I couldn't tell you for sure. I'm also interested in other "top end friendly mods" besides the common stuff already listed.
I thought S4 was good on highway...
but you guys seriously never did street racing?? I'm not trying to be a bad guy here, but I think we all have been in a situation when a car pulls up to you, and just waits for the green light...

I'd be willing to bet very few people on here have not street raced. That doesn't mean we condone it. Personally, I used to race on the streets with my previous car, but I got smarter and now I get it out of my system at a real track or auto-x event. Street racing is dangerous and we've lost a few members that way.
Aside from the basic power mods, also consider aero mods for increased top speed. A nice front under tray and rear diffuser will decrease turbulence under the car, reduce drag from the "parachute" effect, and also reduce lift making the car more stable at speed. Also, removing the wing will increase top speed at the cost of stability ... I would not recommend it.
