EVO 8 Models: RS vs GSR vs MR?

Hi, I am very new to this site and I am considering purchasing an EVO 8. I was hoping someone could explain the differences for me between the three models (i dont know if there are any other models) RS, GSR, MR?

Is there one that I should get?
Are other models weaker in power or anything?
Thanks everyone!

I think I've read close to 3 threads in the past week talking about this.....do a quick 'SEARCH' before starting a beaten to death thread so many others have already asked...... just try it....it won't hurt.

Oh...and welcome! I'm from the Bay Area too!

Just research google or wikipidia. They compare all three.

There are no power/engine differences between all 3. The MR has a 6-Speed Tranny while the GSR and RS have 5 speed.

The RS is the most stripped of unnecessary parts out of all 3 models. It has no power windows, etc....

All in all the regular GSR/VIII is the way to go. Same Turbo/Engine as other models and it'll save you a **** load of money. Money you can put towards modding and make it faster than a stock MR anyway.

2003: GSR

2004: GSR, RS

2005: GSR, RS, MR

1. All have the same power per each year, but the 05's HP and TRQ were bumped up a little.

2. 03'-04' GSR's have HID's standard besides the 04' RS.

3. 05's didn't have HID's unless you buy one with the leather package in it.
2005 was also the fist year for the Active Center Diff and front LSD was available besides the 2004 RS having a front LSD as well.

4. MR's have a 6 speed, Blistien shocks, vortex generator, and a couple interior pieces.

If anyone wants to add go ahead...

No, it doesn't have a larger hotside. All the 03/04 models have the same power and the 2005 rs, gsr, and mr have the same power (more power, torque mostly, from the 10.5 hotside)

All 05's have the 10.5 hotside. That wasn't just for the MR.
