TBE v.s. exhaust cut out

What is everyone's thoughts on a 3 inch exhaust (buschur) v.s. an exhaust cut out.. i know it's illegal.. but beside the legal standpoint.. how much more power would you make w/ the stock exhaust with an exhaust cut out v.s. just a 3 inch exhaust?? I only ask because it comes out to be about 600 dollars cheaper to just buy that, so i was thinking of going down that road...and if it's pretty much a straight pipe.. im guessing it would make more power too...

It would only be practical with a stock exhaust if you wanted a DD nice and quiet and took it to the track for results with the cut-out. Realisticaly an open dump off the turbo or downpipe will give you the best gains...how much more than a catback w/ cat delete im not too sure but im guessing 10 horsies

Just get the buschur 3" TBE with the magnaflow muffler and either a hiflo cat or their bullet muffler testpipe. The car will be nice and quiet until you step on the gas, and then it will have a nice growl to it.

These cutout things are cheap and they break over time, just a waste IMHO. Do you really want all that hot exhaust gas dumping all over the bottom side of your car?

I had the QTP cut out and it worked pretty well. The only downside was that I had to re-apply silicon rtv around the valve seat every couple months to get a good seal. It was well worth it though, the fun factor was through the roof!
