WRX owner soon to be EVO owner
For the last 4 years I have owned my wrx and been on an amazing journey with 0 bumps in the road and it has gone from stock to everything you can do short of a built motor. I have sunk more money into this car then I should have ever had, but thats life with a crazy addiction for boost. I have gotten to the point that I have become bored with the car and decided its time to come to the dark side of AWD and experience the amazing evolution. I am in the process of still selling my WRX and will have to wait until the sale happens before I can purchase the evo but still I figured I would make this thread and say hello and learn as much as I can before I buy the car. If anyone has anything they would like to warn me about or just say about the evo just speak up, Im not here to start an evo vs sti/wrx argument, both are amazing cars with their own ups and downs and its as simple as that.
So anyways hello to all and thanks for any input!

Welcome to Evom and to the dark side. Sooner or later, you'll scoop up a legit Evo.
Now alot of the evos are high mileage, i guess take your time and find the one that has low miles and hopefully it works out for you then.
And godluck selling the WRX. Hope you get that sold quick.

Here's one thing to warn you about... The upper intercooler hose that connects to the intake manifold may blow off under high pressure. It's a pretty easy fix but it'll scare the daylights out of you the first time it happens lol. Most people just use t-bolt clamps to solve the problem. The reason I bring it up is because it just happened to me today for the second time. Perhaps WRXs have a similar problem so you might already be aware but I just thought I'd share in case you weren't. It might save you a heart attack! lol

welcome.
i switched to the other darks side and bought a WRX after my DSM broke on my for the last time. i sold my WRX about two years ago and switch back to the even darker side of mitsu ownership. the evo is in another league compared to the WRX, very happy with my decision.
and there is nothing wrong with tecate, did you guys try putting a pinch of salt in it? but modelo especial is my go to anyways.
mine started doing that after i got it back from the shop when the 3rd clutch went into the car, but i am sure you know about evo clutch issues. i ended up picking up a cheap silicone upper IC pipe to solve my issue. don't forget the aquanet IC pipe modification as well.
