280awp?!?!? thats it?!?!?
Search the boards, look at the stepped upgrades buschur and ams sells. Although the block should be good for around 500 awhp, look into an upgrade there as well as possibly transfer case, transmission as well if you end up at a 500+ awhp number... Definentely a double or triple clutch will be needed to harness that kind of power
There are many of us running mid 11's and lower on stock IX turbo... look at TTP.
for 600whp, you need:
1. cams ($500-600)
2. intercooler with piping (~$1000)
3. gt35r or 37r turbo kit (~$4000), injectors ($300-400?)
4. built bottom end (~$3000)
5. EMS (~$1000)
6. race gas tune (~$400-500)
7. clutch (~$1500-2000)
for 800whp
you need all of the above
except you will need
GT42r turbo kit ($5000-6000)
built tcase
built tranny
built head
.......
this is rough estimate,,go search now

like i said your bolt ons and 280 is pretty on point if you want 600 hp you will need to 2.3 or 2.2 stroker at least very least a 35r maybe a 37r with meth yea if you have the money do it
What are your plans for the car? Track only car, dd, or both? FYI, there are not many people daily driving their 600-800 whp cars. And if you do really plan on doing this, expect for things to break. It's just the way it is.
I hope you don't jump straight into a big turbo upgrade since you don't really know what your doing yet. I suggest getting the basics first and learning more about your Evo. There are a lot of staged upgrades you can find here with a little research. Here's one for example..

hm...if you're on dynodynamics I think thats ballpark. When I bought my evo IX it had been tuned to 290whp&tq with 4 mod's = K&N, UICP, axle-back, exhaust and dp - this was on dynojet.
i think u got a ****ty tune and spent 1g way too much. i had a 03 evo 8 with just turboback and fuel pump running 21 psi on 93 oct. i was pushing 305whp 300 ft lbs tq. and i only spent 500 for the tune at turbotrix. i think u should slowly work ur way up to a high hp evo.
upgrade the intercooler with upper and lower pipe. 02 housing, some injecters, ems if ur planning on a bigger turbo, get a set of cams too. if ur gonna be pushing that much power then id just go with some 280's,then go with a nice turbo setup.
boostlogic is coming out with a nice turbo setup. u should look into that one. they got two turbo options. a 50 trim and 61,. i like the ams kit too. gt35r is plenty of turbo for the streat in my oppinion.
and guys instead of trying to talk him out of building a high hp evo y not just help him out.

it's pretty clear your quite the newb. you should have done the boost leak yourself, and made sure the car was up to snuff before you brought it to him. It says so right on his website.
instead of asking for people to spoon feed you information, you have to spend the time to do the reading, and figure exactly what you want - what the car is capable of, and what mods you need to do it. The information is out there, but you have to be the one to find it. Listening to a bunch of monkeys on the internet and blowing your money - just isn't going to work. If money isn't an option just take it to Buschur or AMS - and they will gladly build you a car.
if you bring it to DSG, they have Dyno Dynamics that will make you cry even more about low horsepower numbers.

All supporting mods + a 35 or 37r turbo. If you want good spool go with full-races twin scroll 35r. Also if you want it to be livable instead of just building a 2.0 bottom end go with the 2.2 or 2.3 bottom end. I would personally go with a Jun 2.2 or AMS 2.3RR if money isnt an issue. Also now there seems to be no need for the AEM EMS. The tuners have gotten good enough where you should be able to extract 600 out of the stock ECU.
