Angry 280awp?!?!? thats it?!?!?

Hi guys,
I've own my evo for a while, but did not pay too much attention to little details of my car at all until now. As I was going through some of the threads, I found out that my car was little bit different( or weaker) than others based on the max HP and TQ with the following mods that I currently have;
HKS suction intake, koyo radiator, hks downpipe, helix test pipe, hks ti catback exhaust, BOV, MBC, walboro 255.
Ive got a tune from AL and spent like a 1G that day, because he said "Oh, we gotta do this test and that, boost leak, blah blah." and took him like 20mins to tune my car unlike he stated on his website. I am not too sure if he really tuned my car for good or not, but from what I got on this tune, it was pretty disappointing. I am currently running 21psi, and making only 280hp. So, did i get ripped off? or what?
and What should I get next in mods? Oh, dont worry I aint going to that Al guy ever again, I am going down to DSG which is only 20mins away from here.

wow sorry to here that. Don't get wrapped up in the numbers. I would go to the track and see how she does before you get pissed.

As far as a mod list I think I have a good one.

Man I haven't heard this story before!

Was it tuned on ICS dyno?

Does your car feel faster?

What was your base run numbers?

What kind of dyno was it on? On 93 oct. and a DynoDynamics (reads low) i made 272hp, but that equates to about 312 hp on a Dynojet. Ive got the same mods you do minus the walbro. So if your making that much on a DD dyno than thats good. Also were you tuned by Al on the dyno or was it a flash? I have to say im not very impressed with Al's tune as he doesn't leave alot of margin for error (at least with the e-flash that a friend of mine as) if you happen to get bad gas. The high octane and low octane maps were dangerously close.

As far as performance goes I haven't really raced him or anything, but he has a IX, so i expect him to be faster with the same mods, but i have driven his car and it pulls pretty good.

As everyone else has said though dont get wraped up in the numbers too much. If it pulls hard and performs well on the track than thats all that matters. Almost every dyno reads differently.

What kidn of dyno? That sounds about right. I make 280ish on a dynojet with close to the same mods. You have a full intake, test pipe and 21psi. I just have a cone filter and HFC but, I'm at 23psi.

But like APEX1 said, don't worry about numbers... only thing that matters is how fast the car is.

That sounds about right for an 8 w/ tbe, intake, and mbc on a dynojet. I doubt he made that kind of power on a mustang or dyno dynamics though. Stock evo 8's are about 230 whp on a dynojet. You do have an evo 8 right?

Next up should be cams, arp head studs, and 02 housing. Maybe injectors if you plan on a turbo upgrade in the future. Stock injectors are fine for the stock turbo.

oh, my car feels little faster after the tune but not by much. and Yes, the car was tuned by Al at Dyno. Now, a new noob question comes in again. If you guys were in my shoes, what would you do? I want to get around 600-800whp on my car later.
What turbo upgrade would I need to make this much power and be safe? and what other mods do I need other than getting the upgraded turbo kit?

No offense, but what did you expect? You have very limited bolt on mods right now on an 8, and have no cams. That number sounds accurate for your mods.
