yep, I had a retail store from 93-2000 and at first is was profitable but when big chain stores moved in on either side of me I ended up practically giving items away just to stay competitive...in the end I got out of retail and went to pure service which meant pure profit and way less headaches

Ugh - I just read the thread (someone clued me in that it's on YO's Wiki). The level of collusion that takes place in it for what amounts to price fixing is infuriating. It makes us seem like simply fish in a barrel, and it totally stomps on the capitalist ideals that this country supposedly runs upon.

And while there were some bad guy vendors in there, not all the vendors were in there encouraging this.

I had ignored YO since it required a subscription fee - figured it wouldn't be worth it. But hell, if they can get some vendors fired up enough to have them tossed off of here, then I think that makes it worthwhile to check them out. I like AMS, but after reading that thread I can see where bigric09 is coming from. It certainly leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

yea pure service is the way to go, we make our living as a bodyshop first, the parts we do is just simple because we love meth and gauges and boost controllers go hand in hand with them...

yep, that's a good strategy. I've had people beg me to carry fuel pumps, tactrix cables, wb02 etc... and sure I could sell some but then I have to deal with tech support for them, shipping, stock, warehousing ... ugh all to make a few bucks. it just isnt' worth it to me.

yup, i hear that, we used to try and stock bodykits and all sorts of aero parts for the typical cars we did for cars here at the shop and it just got crazy...we ended up just dropping the parts line in that sense...

I didn't really understand him at the time but back when I had my store I had grand plans to open multiple stores all over the place etc... a friend of mine's dad that owned a company that was spread out over multiple states (surveyors) warned me to keep it small and profitable. The old guy was right...I sleep better having a smaller operation.

anyway, i'm getting off topic here

Pretty amazing how much pull some vendors have on this site and how much they get away with. In the end i think it was a bad decision by the owners. God forbid we get parts for cheap.... it was clearly a decision based on the benefit of the site not the benefit of its members.
Are you afraid to say "AMS".... like someone esle mentioned, I wish i thought of it myself. Competition is competition, and i don't see a rulebook laying aound anywhere.

I haven't purchased anything from them, but I did take a look when they offered the free month. There prices were much lower than any other place I checked out. I was planning on picking up a Random Cat (200) and a Tanabee cat back ($500) when I got the money.

+1 on feedback from anyone that did actually purchase

According to the PM Zach sent me, "Dear EvoM Member, I just wanted to take a moment to let you know that Today (Friday Nov 23rd) will be the last day on EvoM for yOparts.com..."

we all should add yoparts into are sigs.

something like

BIG DEALS AND MEGA SAVINGS AT YOPARTS.COM. COME JOIN THE SALES AND GREAT SERVICE. ''link here''

and to AMS. dont ***** about when people copy your parts or skip the r&d part and make something simular to your parts. you just cryed because someone can beat you pricing. grow the hell up. ether compete in the market and play the game like everyone else or leave. i feel you should be the one's to go with your childish acts. not yoparts.com
