Learning Stick

Well, I need a car to practice stick on, but I want a car ( with a clutch somewhat similar to the evo ) to practice on....

Had an experience, practiced on my friends 500HP RX7, Stage 4 clutch....Didn't go so well

Anyone know of any cars I can get for cheap/rent/borrow or w/e that has a clutch like the evo?

Learn how to drive stick on anything, it's the same thing.. to an extent.
And don't start on a High HP car! That's not smart

Finding a 4wd platform that drives like the Evo is next to impossible. You need to drive on to really know what its like. Honestly I would not pick it to be my first victim of learning how to drive stick but to each his own. I owned a bunch of fwd manual cars and moving into the Evo was a BIG difference to me but not all that hard. If I were you I would start out with FWD and get it down pat then move to driving an AWD,

+1 on a civic

That was my first manual driving experience and i learned a lot from that 2 1/2 hour driving experience. The clutch in the old honda i drove in was grabby, fast, and the lack of horsepower made it unforgiving but with a mere half hour of just poking around I got the hang of it

+1 I would definately not learn how to drive stick on a high HP car and surely not an Evo. You need to learn on something with alot less power.

Neither the Civic, any year or any model. Or the WRX drive like or "feel" like an EVO. I have had 2 Civics, 1CRX, 2 Integras. I have had them all stock for a while and then modded the hell out of them and they are nothing like the EVO. My friend has a WRX and it doesnt feel anything like the EVO. I have other friends that have the STI stock and modded to hell and they dont feel like or drive like the EVO.

Only an EVO Feels like an EVO.

Any manual will work, so you will just get the feel of driving stick. Launching an evo is the tricky part, but that way down the road.....

Whatever car you learn on just make sure it doesn't have a puck clutch. It'll take you 10 times longer and you'll keep stalling the car.
