4- Walbro 255 Fuel pump " a must"
5- 02 housing
6- Intercooler pipping "AMS or Buschur" or any brand to your liking
7- FMIC "intercooler core" Best choise would be AMS, buschur, ETS.
8- Ported Exhaust Manifold "Worth few more HP" better than cheap manifolds.
9- Cams , of any brand to your liking
10- Most importantly TUNE TUNE TUNE TUNE TUNE
Yeah, the Deadman pointed you generally in the right direction. Get a 3" downpipe. The air filter you can go either with a drop-in stock replacement such as a K&N, Works or BMC. Or a cone element such as the Buschur filter. Just don't get the K&N Typhoon system whatever you do.

The most widely used manual boost controllers on here are the Hallman and the Forge Unos.

You can get a coated tubular O2 housing from Buschur Racing.

Just get the lower intercooler pipe upgrade(LICP). Have the stock exhaust manifold ported and coated by Buschur or PPI.

As far as cam selection goes, consider your application before deciding.

Get your ECU tuned/flashed for your mods.

Please excuse me for being blunt, but you don't even have the car, yet, you haven't driven it, so why in the world do you want to mod it?

Why don't you concentrate on learning to drive the thing, first, and then mod it per your needs! Dolt!!

Why do you fell the need to do it, anywat? You question is the epitome of rice.
Maybe hes already a good driver.. we dont know this. When I was coming into an evo I was plenty experienced to hop on the mod train.

The evo is nice... but it has to be the EASIEST car I have EVER drivin in my life... it's def not rocket science Now, if someone were going into a c6 z06, carrera gt, gt2, 911 turbo then ok learn to drive it... but not an evo.... stock evos are kinda sluggish IMHO

+1 for Dead-man Inc... good list

Thanks Dead-man and anyone else that gave me a few things that would be a good idea to do, appreciate it a lot.

As for the TBE, are there any laws about those that I should know about?

Exactly.

Not too sure why my post drew so much hate.

Depending on ur country/state law, if they allow it.

mostly it's ok, as long as you have a Catalyc and not a testpipe which is mostly illegal.

I have a IX RS. First two mods for me were a fresh set of tires (Bridgestone RE-01R in 245/45R17) and a proper alignment. My settings are -2.0F/-1.5R camber and slight toe out up front and slight toe in for the rear. Car corners incredible, very neutral at low/high speeds, with very slight oversteer if you give it too much gas on corner entry. Turn in is razor sharp and highlights the great steering the car is endowed with.

The power mods, meaning the popular starter kit of turbo back exhaust, manual boost controller, walbro fuel pump and custom tune are later down the road, don't want any headaches with the dealer if I need something fixed under warranty. Besides, I enjoy the car as is for the time being.

Patience with regards to modding is one of the hardest things to exercise when owning a car with this much potential.

Is the car even out yet? Do they even make parts for it yet? LOL

just drive the thing first dammit.. let the vendors do the dirty work and buy their proven parts. We don't know if an O2 housing needs replacing on stock turbo or if you need a fuel pump or injectors or DV or...yadda yadda yadda etc..

Hell, I used to run 12.9 when I first ran this setup.. now I run 12.1 ..is my car any faster? NO ..the driver got faster

Cheers

I'm surprised that a wideband has not been mentioned, or let alone a boost gauge!! I do not feel any parts should be installed without these gauges... but thats just me.

Correction- I see dead man mentioned a boost gauge is mandatory with an MBC

I would strongly recommend leaving it stock and learing to fully utilize the car in stock form. A stock evo is a lot more capable than 90% of people can handle. IMO way too many people are concerned with making "big power" or 1/4 mile times and really don't realize just how good a stock evo is. Sure you can mod it and make it a better/faster track car, but why throw money and parts at it if you not using it's full potential.

Learn to drive is #1
once you find out where you can out perform the car, that will tell you where you need to mod.
When I bought the car it had a boost guage and a cat back on it, that's all I need personally.
1. Boost guage
2. check for boost leaks, maybe upgrade to samco hoses or hardpipes
3. change all fluids (diff fluid makes a BIG difference if its old fluid)
4. turbo back exhaust
a. downpipe
b. highflow cat/test pipe
c. catback
5. Manual boost controller
6. Tune
7. Slave pill mod
8. Clutch
9. Tires
10. Air freshener. By now you should know how to drive it, and you will most likely scare the poop out of your passengers, this will cover that up.
