I get a nice bonus after the holidays and After buying gifts for everbody I want to get something for myself. I cant decide If I should go with the GSC Stage 1 or a Coolingmist Meth injection kit. What do ya think I should do?

Im sure I'll get the other when Tax season rolls around.

Cams are good all day long... meth, well it's more risky and you have to worry about fillup and leaking blah blah blah.

Maybe more power with meth though..

I personally went with cams.

If your the I don't care type go with the meth , even though they have alot of great fail safe features.

yea, you'll have more fun with some nice cams. Later on when you upgrade the turbo and want to run higher boost levels, that's when the meth is a nice thing to have.

on an evo 9 expect only about 10-20whp gain with cams. it isn't very big compared to doing cams on an evo 8. meth on the other hand is a solid 50ftlb of torque increase with 30-40 whp increase. there is no comparison between the two, but as some have mentioned, meth is higher maintance.

and to the guy that said cams are more fun then meth, have you driven an evo with meth?

I'd definately go with GSC S1 cams...oh wait...I already did! You'll have a lot more fun with cams. Save the meth for a bigger turbo. There's really no drawbacks to cams except for a not-as-smooth-as-stock idle. The S1's idle very close to stock though. Oh and you're a IX. You won't even notice the cams idle.

 

cams dotn make more than 15whp on stock turbo.. with meth you can make 40-80whp depending how much you want to spray.

A good C16 map will rival any meth map. The good thing is that race fuel doesn't cost anything except the tune and the gas. You'd still have to buy a barrel of meth and a tune anyhow.

 

Sure, with the Meth you must buy the kit itself. But with C16 you´ll be better off with a quantity of barrels if you want to run the stuff on a daily basis. The Meth equipped car might be easier to travel long distances in, especially with large dual tanks.

 

For a 9 I would suggest meth but an 8 it would have definitely been cams...
