Get evo if you like to hang out with friends.

Get 350z if your life is full with girlfriends and relationships, so no one will disturb you and your romance, specially in the car.

Mainly so you don't become the speedy taxi.
The 350z is more reliable than the Evo too, and also has better customer service than . Looks-wise, the 350 is more and the Evo is . Only reason I would choose a Evo over a 350z would be if I really needed the car space, and wanted to have almost the same amount of power.

As for the guy that said that he beat a 350z TT by a car and a half with his stock turbo: that 350z driver must have been a horrible racer.
I'm not doubting the Evo cuz I LOVE it, but a 350z TT being beat by an Evo... eh... I'd have to see it to believe it. Those ****ers are fast.

I was in a similar situation as you. I had an 05 G35 coupe with hks exhaust (man that thing sounded AWESOME) and just about ever other bolt on but living in CO I needed a 4wd. Having come from the g35 to a IX MR I can say that the evo is MUCH faster and more fun to drive if it has good complementing mods. I will tell you to go ahead and get 272 cams because it will make the Evo have more top-end power (similar to the vq motor) and will make the car sound alot better and feel more like a N/A car. Before the cams I wasn't sure if I missed the G35 more than I liked the Evo, but now I love the evo and am glad I made the jump. ... You will lose some sex appeal....so if your not getting any lol you are better off with the Z. just my 2 cents

 

Get the IX MR. Lots of people tell you to get the SE because the 6sp is weak, yes, but only if you're going for a LOT of power and road racing a lot. I have the MR, and my good buddy has the SE, we swap cars every once in a while, and unanimously agree that my transmission feels a helluva lot better, to the point where he wants to trade in his car for an MR. I want to do a 35R+built motor and such for 550+whp, which is when I'll be selling my nice 6sp for a racing 5sp transmission and clutch.

 

Is this a serious question? The Z is a piece of ****. I own both. It is ridiculously slow and the handling isn't as good as everyone says. Very uncomfortable to drive in. Can't wait until I trade it in for a skyline.

 

If you're really looking just for a play/track car, get an Evo IX RS It's the least civil of all the Evos, but the best for the track.

 

Haha, probably you get the ****ed Z, that's why you said it's handling is terrible.

Can't really compare Z and evo, basicly the turbo makes the difference.

I would stick to evo, can bring family and friends around. Super sexy car(check out the show and shine threads, got to love the evo+mods specially mods for look), easy to mod from performance to look and the handling is very good for 4door sedan(evo mr fq400 beat lambo @topgear =p).

Get used '02~'06 350z, with low millege for weekend car? or once a while switch evo and 350z for weekend car, depends of how you want to do with them.

I say that because there are many cheap 350z out there. I am from WA and found so many 350z just by looking at the craigslist.

Think carefully before you buy, it's your money, your sweat, your baby, your fun, not us.

Don't do the 350Z. People pop the VQ35 like its a balloon with boost. Get an Evo!
