Every really nice car make, Porsche, Bmw, Ferrari...has an annual car club meet. Why not one for the EVO! How cool to have all of the Evomaniacs gather once a year at a forum with a 1/4 mile strip, road course, etc...vendor booths, tuners, show cars... and enjoy the passion we all share for these cars/obsessions. Any ideas as to a location or time of year? Maybe we could start a thread and get some input from vendors that have done local events, use the experience to take it to a national level. Anyone? Volunteers needed.

 

When I had my sr20det powered car, we had annual conventions throughout the us. I would be willing to start getting the ball rolling for this but would need an extreme amount of volunteer help to make it happen being it would be the first one and having no previous roadmap sucks.

I can make things happen if there's serious interest.

I was thinking of tapping into some of the events that have a lot of experience and seeing if I could get some organizational info from them, NOPI, PCA, BMWCCA, etc..I can't imagine them not sharing their info, not like any competition going on. Also, some of the vendors that sponsor the evom forums would probably be willing to help, good PR for them in the process. I was hoping to get some feedback from this thread from some of our vendor/sponsors. I guess we can guage interest by the feedback. Should this be posted somewhere else for better exposure? LETS GO!

Is it just me or isn’t the DSM shootout in a nut shell like an EVO meet? We all know the DSM's are becoming less and less so in a few years it will just be the EVO shootout.

This event it put together real well, I have been 2 times in the past and it was so much fun. If you think you can get an EVOm meeting going then I’ll be there, but I do not see anyone getting together outside of the shootout. Why struggle to put something new together when you all ready have a good venue ready and rocking every Aug

Buschur has a forum that has all of the details, I think it is in the second half of August, some people have said the hotels are filling up fast. It sounds like a drag event, no road racing-autocross or anything. I wonder if there is the possibility of adding some other type of racing in the future. I will contact Buschur to see. I'll get the dates and post them.

There are a lot of regional meets that pop up all over... As far as a national meet- eeek that would be tough- there are a ton in CA, but for us midwest guys it makes it hard. Right now we're planning a midwest meet for all the midwest states including MI,WI, UT, CO, and a few others that don't really fall within the region.

Gateway Inyernational Raceway would be a good place, there have beed NOPI avents and others there. It would allow for a road course as wellas 1/4 mile action.

 

It would be nice if there were regional meets e.g. North, South, East, and West. Then do the wrap up at the shootout every year or hold a national event with all flavors of racing.

When I used to have my Vett it seemed like there were owners meets every other month or so.... Sigh not with Evo's though I am lucky if I can get 3 local owners together to meet in a parking lot

 

It would be cool to do someting like this. Where to have it and when are the biggest questions. I'll follow this thread though and see where it goes.
