New here, but problems with new Evo :(

Hey guys,
I'm not necessarily new to browsing around here, I've probably been browsing the forums for a couple months now, because I knew one day I would own one of these beauties. So about 3 weeks ago while I was home on leave (Navy ftl) I picked up a Black 03 with 60k miles. He has some work done to it, HKS BOV, Koyo Radiator, Perrin Exhaust, HKS CAI, lowered (I'm not sure how it's lowered if its just springs or a whole set of different coilovers, (and probably alot more that I don't know about due to the fact that I'm definately a newbie when it comes to actually working on cars). But anyways, about 2 days after I got it, it started to squeel (not a belt squeel tho, it comes from under the car) in first gear right around 10 MPH and then after that it drives fine. The clutch pedal lifts kinda high so with my limited knowledge it seems that the clutch may be a little F'd up. I haven't had time to take into a mechanic yet (had to come back to Washington state.....I'm from Maryland). So the car is currently being shipped here and was wondering if you guys would have any clue what could possibly be wrong with it.
Sorry for the confusing post, hopefully you guys are smart enough to understand what I'm trying to say lol
Thanks

Well, "clutch pedal lifting kinda high" is a worn out clutch disk. You got that one right! Take it on the freeway, and stomp on it. See if the revs go up but the car doesnt wanna go anywhere. When u do that clutch, throw somethin in there thats worth it! Now for your other problem, I had the same thing happen to my car when I took my brake calipers off to get em repainted. At very low speeds, it would squeal, then Id go above a certain mph and it would go away. Check to see that your backing plates arent barely rubbing up against ur brake rotors, MINE WERE!!! Hope this all helps

Thanks for the info!! I'm currently looking at new clutchs/flywheels. I don't want to spend an enormous amount, but then again I want something that will last a decent amount of time and be able to go to the track every once in a while. Probably looking to spend somewhere around $1500, so if anyone has any suggestions at what I should look for I'm all ears
Thanks again

You can try adjusting the clutch engagement:

If the car has 60k miles then more than likely the car has a worn stock clutch or an aftermarket one.

There's my 2 cents.

Since you have 60k on the odom. dont forget about possible replacing your neccesary belts, ig. timing belt... becasue thats all you dont need is your belt/chain to fail...

clutches dont last long in our cars so i would expect it to go and since you dont no how the guy that had it before you treated it y not be safe and replace it anyway the are designed to take the load and fail so that we dont kill our drive train anyway good luck

Thanks again for all the responses!!
I was also wondering if any of you may happen to be in the Seattle/Washington area. I'm looking for a shop to do some work on my car but haven't had much luck in locating one.

LOL I didnt want the HKS BOV, it was already on the car when I bought it. I've done some research and know it is not the best for our cars, and it will be replaced once I get around to it.
And no I haven't got it fixed yet, the car is still in transit to washington state.
