SEARCH! There are sooooo many options, everyone is going to say that you need to know what you want to do with the car. Daily Driver, Track, etc... Figure that out and go from there. Or there is always the best performance mod, driving school.
dude.. there a bazzilion mods you can add to your car if you search
... but if they are burning a hole in your pocket that bad... get your self a turbo upgrade, and rebuild ur stock block...

You need to decide what you want your Evo IX for. Track, show, or a reliable daily with significant whp numbers are typical for owners looking to spend $6,000 into their Evo. I'd say once you decide where you want your Evo to be after $6,000 worth of upgrades, start researching for the best parts to get you where you want to be instead of other people telling you what to do with your money. Modding your car is more fun if you research on your own and learn more about your car as you go along.
Hope my response helps you in the long run, good luck!

I would recommend a quarter master twin disc clutch, exhaust, upgraded fmic, walbro 255 hp fuel pump, boost controler, and a re-flash. The car would still be a good daily driver, definitely faster, and you'll still have some cash left over.

He doesn't need a quartermaster for a DD, and def. a lot of clutches out there that will suit him better, like single disks. If you want a twin, then go with an exedy twin disk. I have one and love it, and will last you a while! if you want a single plate clutch, Go with an Exedy Stage 2, which is priced reasonably and holds a lot of torque. I've had it before and loved it and lasted me 15k miles with a lot of spirited driving! Go to the for sale section and look around at parts. If it was my money, and if it was to be my dd/fun car for drag/track, I would get evogreen turbo, intake, full exhaust, walbro, injectors, boost controller, fmic, intercooler piping, and a tune. This setup will def. cost you less than 6k and will provide you with a LOT OF FUN AND POWER and reliability!

APC Aluminum wing..(keep your stocker but put this one on the roof)
Iceman intake
OBX muffler
BOSS 20'' chrome wheels
Ground lights
NOS stickers
R racing seatcovers
and a 3" chrome tip
that should get you in the 500whp+ range.

Pay the car off, then with what's left, get a TBE and a tune, some gauges (esp. boost) and go from there. That's basically where I was when I sold my car and I was very happy with it.
