Evo X MPG

The tank is 14 gallons i believe correct? and if i remember 16/22 for the new Evo X so X owners out there how is a full tank turning out... barely over 200 miles ... anywhere near 300? Especially the CA drivers considering the amount of commuting we do down here with traffic and all...

You average the mpg ur hitting about 19 and times that by the 14 gallons thats = about 266 miles/tank

Thanks guys

I've been filling up when the remaining millage meter stops (below ~30 miles ). And unfortunatnly it doesn't seem very accurate...

Anyways, I've been averaging about 11.5 Gallons and between 200-211 miles so, 17-19MPG average. I live in San Francisco however, and it's about 4 miles to the highway with 20-30 stop signs... This car doesn't like city driving at all...

Actually, for SF that does not sound to bad. I know someone with an A3 in SF who says he only gets 13mpg! Maybe you go around all of the hills while he goes over them?

Ive been averaging ~20mpg between hwy and in town. Exactly in line with the VIII I had, and the fuel gauge does seem off from reality. Seems to act like the tank fill level is equivalent to the previous Evo's, and not for the larger tank. This doesnt really make any sense though.

Meh, I'm getting an X to replace my GMC Denali which averages 14mpg with mostly highway.

Plus it has a giant tank (20+ gallons) so it routinely costs me $100+ for fillups. Around 20mpg would be a godsend right now.

^Holy sh*t!

I've always wanted an SUV like a Denali, or Tahoe, but I'd need a DD. Too much gas these days.

It's nice having the room with a baby and all but it's an absolute pain to drive, it rides crappy and parking it is a chore. I also have an FJ Cruiser that I offroad and use as a winter truck so the Denali is just taking up space and gas at the moment. My IX can get like 28mpg so I usually use it as a daily driver but the wifey needs something that doesn't suck the gas like an alcoholic at a brewery.

I did the math and if the MR can get 24-25mpg freeway on the new 2008 ratings, I'd be saving over $1000/yr to drive the MR vs. the Denali. Crazy stuff. AND cost only around $50 for a fillup.

Yeah, drove back home to WA from Nevada last year and got around 27-28 doing 75mph everywhere. I was impressed because the best my STi could ever do doing the same run WITH cruise control was around 26mpg.

Smart man. Most don't consider the differences like that. The MR makes sense in so many more ways.

^haha yeah plz evo x owners tell me its just a tank a week enough to stretch it beyond that almost lol *wishful thinking*

especially with CA gas prices not a pretty sight on top of the traffic that we normally get around here...
