The hks SSQV has caused many problems...if you run a quick search you will see. It causes stalling issues, and a rough idle. That mod adds ZERO HP.

A Vent To Atmosphere BOV messes with your MAF. It releases metered air into the atmosphere that the computer has already added fuel for. With that air gone, the car runs rich...hence the funky problems. Other people are prob. gonna say the same thing...just save the $$ and get something worthwhile..exhaust, drop in filter...

A VTA (Vent to Atmosphere) BOV is a performance degredation.

This is because your car was designed to meter the amount of air its recieving through a MAF sensor which is before the turbo. This "pull through" system measures the quantity of air coming into the car's engine. Your stock BOV actually just dumps the air back into the air tube just after the MAF sensor back into the turbo.

By using a VTA BOV you essentially through any calculations it knows out the door since your letting air escape out to the atmosphere. This tends to do odd quirky lil things like suddenly run rich and bog down.

To get the noise if thats what you really desire then install a filter pipe kit designed for the stock BOV. The hard piping and large air filter really brings out the noise... trust me its quite loud I have one.

getting a cone filter will give you the bov sound. if you have to have the "loud"bov sound, get a aps dual port bov, or a turbosmart dual port. these are the only ones that will give you the sound without drivability issues

i have a HKS ssqv, and i hate it. cant wait to get rid of it.
Its a VTA and it makes the whole car shake and choke-up when it blows off. its loud (in a bad way) and its bad for the engine, not to mention how it hurts the performance by almost kinda locking up (and slowing down) the intake (and the forward thrust) for a split second when it blows off

Dude its not that we don't want to make noise, we just know these cars and know the down side to having a VTA BOV. If you search you will find there are a few BOV's out there that work very well, but without supporting mods you are wasting your money.
