I'd rather send him into a car like the Evo or STI that is a money pit because of either wanting to mod it or maintenance (synthetic oil, high-performance pads, grippy summer tires, etc.) rather than a car that is a money pit because of repairs and quality issues.

Audis are definitely sexy though... safe too.

From what I remember in college, damn near every single person who was male and rocked a recent-model BMW (not a five year-old hand-me-down) or something along those lines was:

* From a well-off family and typically quite spoiled (most guys in college who work hard enough to pay for their own car would get something else)
* Metro
* A tool who wanted to look like a baller
* A tool who didn't know how to drive stick
* A tool who couldn't get girls with his own abilities, whether physical attributes or character traits

Or any mix of the above. Not taking anything away from more luxurious cars or their drivers, I'd get one if I had the funds... but not till I'm much closer to 30. But if you have one in college, there's a good deal that one or more of the above applies, though there are always a few exceptions.

Well the only reason I was looking into the BMW's is because the new 1 series runs 0-60 4.7 and with a simple reflash its possible to make over 300 hp to the wheels. About the Audi.. I think it would be expensive to maintain but you are right...it would be extremely fun to drive.. I am 90% leaning towards the Evo IX (SE or MR? Hmmm....), Color would have to be either White/Blue/Black
Then I'll fit a Bomex kit on it.. JK

I am not going to lie, I still rely on my mom for financial backup. But she will not let me get a well paying long hour job while in college (I work part time at a tutoring place). I saved up enough for a good down payment and insurance for a year (Evo's are so expensive to insure vs my RX8 haha). I won't rush myself when buying the car though, going to shop around for at least a month grabbing best possible prices and making sure the car is right for me.

Too bad those 135is are tiny and ugly. They're pretty quick, no doubt about it, plus they've been proven to be both underrated and very responsive to mods. But for being a $35-40k BMW, I'd expect it to be better-looking, as that's half of the appeal of most BMWs (though obviously it's becoming harder to form an opinion in recent years).

Most people will say that the SE is the best overall package when considering equipment and pricing. Plus if you plan on modding or doing some serious driving on a track, the 5-speed is generally the more recommended transmission to have. Regarding those colors:

White - IX, RS and MR
Blue - IX and MR
Black - IX, SE and MR SE (actually called the MR with the Appearance Package)

Thanks once again! (Wow Deez your full of info lol)
I am about to go watch a movie with my friends, Be Kind Rewind, so before I go I just wanted to let you know how grateful I am!
Ah That sucks...No blue for the SE! Hrm...My brains going to explode over the colors now haha
White looks so damn clean but some dealers here mark em up...
