How long did you have to wait??

I'm going to start off by saying that I'm not complaining (just wondering) lol. How long did everyone have to wait to get their parts installed or get your car in for a tune (if you had somewhere do it for you)?? I called Buschur and gave them my list for them to install, they said they would call in about a week and a half or two weeks. It's been like 3.5 or 4 weeks . I called in and they said they would call me as the other cars were being finished. Like I said, I'm not complaining, I just want my car to be done before spring gets here...so how long has everyone had to wait??

well that would depend on how busy the shop is.....most things are bolt ons and you can install yourself, and just find a shop to tune.....i'm sure buschar can get you in for just a tune faster than installing ish load of parts than tune.

Well, I was going to go ahead and put in some of the parts myself. But for some dumb reason i figured everything might get done quicker if i just called in and orderded the parts that way they would all be there when i dropped my car off. (I figured i would save on shipping too) My parts are...

Buschur TBE
Buschur Intake
Cosworth Cams
Walbro
MBC
Ported and Coated Intake Manifold
Ported and Coated Exhaust Manifold
Ported and Coated O2 housing
Throttle Body
Tune

+1 haha

Seriously, sometimes it is quicker to do it yourself. My buddy with a S/C S2000 took about 2 months to get it all finished at a shop. It just sat at the shops parking lot for the longest time because they were so busy. I will say, the car runs top notch now! How patient are you? I've had my car completely stock for 1.5 years. I've been saving up $$$ and now I'm ordering everything and installing parts as soon as they get here. I can wait, as long as I know it is worth it.

My bolt ons were about the same, I did the work as they came in and the only thing I had to out source was the tune. It really boosted my confidence on working on the 4G, it is a very simple engine!

I wouldn't mind doing the work myself. It's just that I'm utterly retarted when it comes to engines. I could do the intake, exhaust, and maybe the MBC but i'd be too worried that i would screw something up doing anything else. I dont think I can wait another month . I need to go FAST lol

Look up the How-to section on here and Evomoto and you can do pretty much all the above with basic knowledge of handtools and fastners. Don't be afraid to get in their

The MBC is two vac lines and fastners.

Anyone have any idea on about how long you think it will be? If not, then about how long it will take them to get all of those parts installed??

I could do it in a weekend while drinking beer, so I am sure a shop CAN do it faster

If its not an engine or tranny/transfer case overhaul, i do all installing myself. But good rule of thumb is to add 1 week onto WHATEVER time frame they give you. Ive rarely had car work dont when they say. Its not intentional, just the way it is.

You have to figure Buschur is busy all of the time. All of the orders, phone calls, and everything else going on. Like said above, rule of thumb is add a week. You made the right decision, your car will be taken care of and you will have no worries.
