06 Mr

looking to pick it up this friday and had 2 simple questions. 1 being about the trans in the 5 spd and 6 spd both about it being slightly notchy at cold start-up but once getting to temp, acting good. 2nd is i would be the 3rd owner so i know that the 10 yr 100,000 warranty would be gone but would the 5 year 60k warranty still exist to all remaining owners thanks in advance

Ask the dealer. They can tell you about the warranty, but I'm assuming the 60k warranty is still in place.

1. I don't really know what you're asking.
2. You're correct, the 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty is reduced to 5-year/60,000-mile for all subsequent owners.

I've had many vw golfs that were harder to shift when cold, and other cars I have had and do now are that way. IMO all cars are easier to shift when the trans fluid is warmer.

I agree, 10yr 100k warr was gone after the original owner sold the car to the 2nd person.

the tranny in my mr was always tough to shift when cold until i changed from mitsu fluid to mopar fluid.
warranty should be in place for 5/60. i bought mine used at the end of '06 and just got approved for caliper replacement under warranty. the best thing to do is to check with mitsu to make sure it hasn't been voided due to mods/racing, etc.

Isn't that mopar stuff the same only full synthetic? It would exsplain the smoother shifts when cold since full synthetic is not affected as much by temp.

Yea, mine is abit notchy going into 2nd if the temp is at or below around 50 deg. If its already warm out like 60 or 70 it's smooth from the start.
