I cant read anymore threads.
So im just going to ask. Ive never moded a car before , ive worked on some but nothing special. This is going to be my life basically. i am buying an evo. price range up to $25,000 cant have more than 20,000 miles, whats the best year to get? besides the newest? what would you guys recommend ive read up alot about the MR's and SSL's , RS's etc... which is going to give me the best bang for my buck? i dont know how much power im goin to put into it. its going to be my daily driver but im goin to race it as well. ive done too much reading , Im not able to comprehend any thing i read anymore. there is just way too much to handle.

Get a IX. If you can get an SE, great! If you can get a 5spd "standard" Evo, great! SSL is overrated unless you really need the sunroof. HIDs can be had for alot less using aftermarket kits. About the RS, you might grow out of it pretty quick if you DD it. Lack of power windows and sound-deadening can wear on you. Also inside the trunk looks like cr@p. The wingless look will get you less attention from ricers and cops. Good Luck on your purchase. Any Evo is an awesome car!

Ok - what racing are you going to do? How much are you going to race?
Lots of AX, Track, Drag - RS
Some AX, Track, Drag - GSR or MR or RS
Little (mostly daily) - MR or GSR or RS
In the end it doesnt really matter if you are going to mod the car. I wouldnt get the MR if I was going to track or drag a lot. But that OE susp on the street or AX is nice -- but the susp can be changed on the other models.
