I personally like Campbells soup in Cans.

Depends what Evo do you have? Big Turbo or Small Turbo?

The GSC S1's will have a stock like idle and a very broad powerband... I vote for those.

Shoot me a PM if you're looking to get them tuned properly. I'll set you up with a base map prior to the install so we can get started asap.

Cheers!

if you don't mind a little lope and want the most power, HKS 280's will work with stock springs and retainers or GSC S2 but they'll need upgraded springs and retainers.

Yes, GSC S1, after I talked to 4ws and did lots of research on evom and members using them, these cams are the best for stock turbo, listen to 4WS, he is my tuner, you can't go wrong with his words, I am getting set of these soon. Don't go with 280 cams on stock turbo, they are not designed for stock turbo, you will not like the street driving, it'll even shift your powerband, sacrifice the low end torque.

Brad@MellonTuning did a review on the GSC S2's with proper tuning you don't lose any low end and gain power across the entire RPM range even on a stock 16g turbo setup.

and here's my HKS 280's on the stock turbo vs stock cam

keep in mind that the run was started at 2500rpm with stock cams and 3000rpm with HKS 280's

+++ for the S1 GSC. I absolutely love mine. I was able to gain another 60AWHP with some tuning. The idle is pretty close to stock

and if you go with bigger cams now you're setup for the future and don't have to buy another set and spend more money on labor as well.

my HKS 280's with a HTA 35R on 93 octane

that's a good point, but wouldn't GSC S1 gives you more gain throughout the entire power bend, fatter curve, that's even better for stock turbo.

no, the S1 are simply a smaller cam and will not allow as much flow through the engine.
