How much is too much
i gun mine now and then, but mostly i take turns kinda fast, which kinda kills my tires cuz i only have put 5,000 miles on the car and the front tires are starting to look like slicks on the ends (so i rotated them, so now i have like 75% tire tread in the front and 5% in the back
) i also short shift mine and try to keep it under 3K-3.5K. i also heel-toe/rev match every time minimize drive train shock. and call it overkill or whatever u want to call it, but i change my oil and oil-filter every 1,000 miles

In my DD route 5 days a week, I'll redline it once or twice a day. Sometimes only once a week
On the weekends...well...
She's a vehicle that can handle abuse. Like others said, just keep up with maintance.

Just make sure that you let the car fully warm up before you lean on it. If you have an oil temp or oil pressure gauge, it's pretty easy to tell when it's ready to go. If you do not have either of those gauges, then wait until you engine temp (coolant) gauge is as high as it's going to get and then drive the car for another 5 minutes before beating on it. Even if you let it warm up in your driveway, I'd still drive for at least 5 minutes to let the tranny warm up as well before leaning on it.

How often does everyone beat on their evo? I'm starting to get worried that i abuse mine a little too much. I don't exactly redline it every time i get in.. but just about every other time. I have about 340whp (mustang dyno), if that makes a difference. And my front tires already need replaced (I'm at 6300 miles) Just tell me what everyone thinks and how often you open up your evo on the street.
p.s. Now that i need new tires, what are some that are good but not too expensive? (No, I'm not cheap toward my evo, just a little broke from mods lol) Are the Eagle F1 All Season's okay?

The stock tires dont last too long if you drive aggressively, mine were toast in about 9500 miles for the Advans which is normal, I bought a second set of Advans and they lasted a little longer and now have switched to Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position RE050A's which are all around rated a little bit better than the Advans minus a little less sidewall reaction.
As far as beating on my car, I dont go nuts everyday. I usually drive normal in the morning on the way to work then after work to unwind a little get on it here and there, redline maybe once every couple of days. You dont really need to redline to make the evo move good.
Oh Yeah and do what ^ said, every time I drive the Evo I let it warm up and drive it for a good 5-10 minutes to warm up the tranny before getting on it. If i were you if you dont have one invest in a TT
The EVO is a money pit
Get ready to spend lots of money just on maintenance. You can judge how someone drives by how often they have to replace stuff.

I drive the hell out of my car everyday! When the on ramp goes from 3-2-1 what else am I supposed to do? Let the guy in the SS Impala beat me? I think not! LOL No really I do regular maint. and let it warm up and I have a TT installed so I don't feel bad. If it breaks it just gives me an excuse to rebuild faster and stronger!

Lol some of you guys are crazy...especially the dude that's been through all those tires and clutches. What happened to the old saying "Treat your car good, it will treat you good?"
i beat on mine everytime i go out. i got 53k on it now. I only take it out maybe 3 times a week but i bought it to drive it. Just make sure all the maintenance is done regularly.
