Fresh Noob Saying Hi

Hello to all, new to the forum not to new to the car game, Currently have a Civic that i will be selling to fund my newly found dream car of a 2006 Evo 9 MR!!!

Love the civic built it from the ground up to run 10's accomplished that and got really bored of the whole FWD thing. i have loved the evo since i found out what it was before it graced us here stateside.

So yeah, Loving the site so far and am learning on a daily basis.

Nice pick, that's my car and I'd buy it again. You must have found a used one? How many miles on it?

Thanks for the welcome!

I have found a few used ones that I am looking at, I am a little torn between the GG and WW, i am also a little torn on an o6 MR or an 06 SE, I really like the MR for the 6 speed but have heard that it has had a few problems with handling some power mods. But i have also heard if you take care of it and drive it responsibly and dont drive it like an idiot it is a great tranny.

I guess if it goes out then I will just get a shep built 5 speed

I am trying to keep the price of the one i choose under $28,000 But it is pretty hard finding one for around there cause of the high book that the EVO maintain

Either an MR or an SE is a good choice. If you are primarily drag racing then the 5-speed is a little bit stronger but the 6-speed can hold a good amount of power. It has problems with extended auto X and sometimes you can overheat it and break 4th gear. I got the SE since it was the last new non MR my dealership had, they are much more uncommon and I didn't want to pay $43,000 for my dealers last new 06 MR. You can't go wrong with either one though. Good luck.

That is something I will have to keep in mind, Are the only differences between the MR and the SE the trannys? Does the SE still have the adjustable HID's and the fogs and all the fun stuff.

I just bought a 2003 evo 5 days ago from a dealership, I love it but the clutch is already going out on it and it has an upgraded clutch in it already. So if your looking at a used on with some mods on it already be sure to test drive it and make sure the clutch is good

yeah i am sceptical with one with mods on them specially if they are some what of a pretty aggresive mod, cause it is almost admission that you have "gotten on it" so i am thinking of a stock MR woult be my best bet.

i had a question though that i searced for and couldnt find a definite answer on, What is the zero lift package and what does it do. I know that it has something to do with the front bumper area under neath. And if you are to put the beatrush under panel on you have to get rid of this.
