just wondering, and looking for opinions. and i mean for performance, not cause the front bumber or any of that bs, like does the 8's turbo go out easyer or whats up with that. and would it be a bad idea to buy an evo if it has around 60k to 70k miles on it

 

The nine is better.

reasons... MIVEC, bigger hotside on the turn, stronger BOV, all off the top of my head.. but those are the imporant things.. plus the IX looks much better IMHO

 

I love my IX and they make a good daily driver which is what I use it for. They respond really well to mods and other things. However I've been told that if you're doing heavy mods like replacing the turbo and such the VIII is a better choice. I'd stay away from high mileage Evos since you never know where they've been or how they were treated.

 

9 for simple bolt ons. but if you doing an overhaul with new engine and turbo you won't notice much of a difference.

 

If you get an 05 VIII your basically a set of cams away from having the same bolt-on potential as the IX

The 9 is better, But the 8 is better because you can buy it for 10k less than a nine and spend that much more on the motor.

...maybe for a beaten, high-mileage '03 VIII. That's a pretty big statement you made there that will only apply to a small group of Evos that you probably wouldn't want to buy unless you're planning on replacing everything.
