newbi question on o2, exhaust manifold

I was getting mix feed back from searching.... some people are saying go with stock ported and coated exhaust manifold and ported and coated 02... others are saying different.... would the megan o2 and the megan exhaust manifold me worth it? or just go with the stock ported... and coated...i can't afford the full racing manifold for 1200...ish or else i would go with that... planing to stay stock turbo or maybe a green... if i go bigger but not much bigger then that...

should i also coat the hotside as well?

and how much would it roughly cost to get it ported.... and coated... thanks

You could port those or, you could port the stock. Talk to Wayne at PPI. He's a vender here...He'll take care of you.

There's a bunch of options... perhaps easiest to reduce downtime is to purchase a ported stock manifold. Muse Motorsports produces a cast of a fully ported stock manifold, and its very reasonably priced

As far as O2 housing, you can save some time & money there by purchasing an eBay one that's as good as ported:

PPI is a great option if you want have your stock stuff ported and/or coated. The coating isn't necessary, but it does help keep the temperatures down.

wayne from ppi is great to work with. i ordered a ported exhaust manifold and a used non-ported 10.5 hotside from him. ordered a megan o2 housing from a seperate vendor. my evo is a dd so once i installed the ported manifold i sent him back my stock one for a refund for the core price.

if you are running the stock turbo with 9.8 hotside, i suggest you also install the 10.5 hotside while you have everything apart.

yeah you have the 10.5 hotside already. i wouldnt think it would take a shop more than 4 hours to do the job.

Turbo swaps and exhaust swaps shouldn't take over 2 hours if it's a competent shop. I can replace the turbo in an hour solo taking care not to strip anything.
