IX's have Alcantra Recaro seats that are awesome...the 8's have those cheesy grid/plaid pattern IMO anyway

 

Honestly I love my 8 because its customized to my personality and would not trade it, but if I had the extra money at the time I would have got a brand new 9 instead of an 8 just for the interior and mivec alone.

 

I'm shocked that someone actually prefers the 8 front bumper over the 9.

 

I just bought a IX and I LOVE it. My friend has an 03 Evo and he says if he could go back and do it all over again he would get a IX. I'm not sure but I think the IX has about 20whp more stock. Correct me if I'm wrong.

And the front end is just SEXY!
I like the tailights WAY more too

 

Prepare to be shocked again. I would definitly agree that a 9 is a better car, well, better engine - namely better engine cooling and Mivec and some drivetrain stuff.

But when it comes to bumpers - I like the 8 front bumper more, because it has a huge hole for the intercooler and a JDM bumper for the rear. Look how you can see the end tanks with their pipes, isnt it purdy?

 

I prefer the 8 bumper as well. Start a poll. I bet its close to 50/50.


But yeh, the 9 has a lot of other stuff better than the 8, as already stated.

 

8 front bumper is better imo. The rear bumper...damn.. its 50/50 for jdm 7/8 and the 9. love the lines and bottom end matching on the jdm 7/8 but love the diffuser on the 9. as far as purchasing one, I don't regret buying an 8, plus I prefer the bby color which was only on 03-04. i guess it comes down to what are going to do to the car. If you will never mod it or keep it just straight bolt ons. Get a 9. If you are gonna mod it past bolt ons and change out the turbo, fmic, might as well get an 8 or an RS.

 

I prefer the IX front bumper as well. It looks more like the older models of the Evo. I agree with the other people on here. If you want to do serious mods on it and race it, then get an VIII. If you just want to do some basic bolt ons and have a wicked mean daily driver then go with the IX. I daily drive mine and I love it.
