Maintenance!?

I have a question. When buying an evo everyone mentions "Maintenance". But they actually give details to this. Like is this "Maintenance" just simple things like changing fluids and rotating the tires or does it go way deeper then that. Someone elaborate.

Maintence can be done easily with just common sense. But since its a evo its a higher maintence car than say a cobalt or a honda. Just remember if buying an evo breaks the bank, then keeping up with maint costs will be a issue. Otherwise your fine.

Since no one put up their intervals I will, I still have low miles but this is how I did it from day one.

Oil - every 2500 to 3000
TC, Rear, Trans - every 6000

If I hit the track then I up the interval, I like clean fluids and I am firm believer in changing them earlier than recommend Other than these routine fluids you have to account for tires, brakes, clutch, air filters, etc. Even daily driving this car can get expensive.

Tires are an expensive maintenance item too, youll want to run a good set of summer tires, cost about $550 for a set and wear pretty fast.

If it snows where you are youll want a good set of winter tires too, plus the cost of switching the tires twice a year, or a second set of rims.

The manual recommends 3000 mile oil changes and 15000 miles transmission/transfer case/diff fluid changes

Stock Tires and Clutch that often don't last 20K miles would be the big maintenace items.

Spark plugs get preaty expensive to, The Evo is a high maintance car, but if you take care of it she'l bring you to Oblivion(Thats the END). So just get the manual and follow that, and dont be shy about changing out a fluid a little early.

if you don't know what to use, stick with OEM fluids

alright man straight up your evo is gunna have problems, im sure everyone here has had that nice little light pop on in more than a few occasions but you have to be mechanically inclined enough to keep with it or it will kill you but dont get me wrong my evo will be cube before i stop working on it and think about selling it. these car are not some civic you see down the street and definitly not something a brand new tuner should get or you will hate life. it depends on you and your drive and are you willing to sit down and study manuals in your spare time and pull your spark plugs once you change fuel maps every week until you find the perfect gap for your elevation and boosting levels. its a passion we all share and it take a good chuck of change but im sure no one here would say they dont love there car
