Alright guys, I'm new to the scene for Evo's but I was wondering what kind of evo I have. Last weekend I purchased a 2005 Apex Silver Evo from a local dealership. The car doesn't say Evo 8 anywhere. All it says is Evolution on the rear bumper. I did a carfax history report and it said my car was manufactured on April 21st of 2005. So is my Evo an 8 or a 9. Also the car has Hid''s, Sunroof, 5spd manual transmission, and all black leather interior including the Recaro seats. So which model do you think I have?

Dude, you have an 2005 GSR w/ the SSL package. It's an Evo VIII. Evo's don't say "EVO" on them. They have a "Lancer Evolution" badge on the trunk.

you have a evo 8 with i think SSL package...evo 9's were only made in 2006

 

Open the hood - does the engine say "MIVEC" on top? Then it's an IX.

I was going to ask why you bought something without even knowing what model it is and there for not really knowing how much it was worth. I dont care though. Use the search button next time you have no idea what you put your money into.
