Newbie from Houston, TX

Hey guys! I'm a newbie from Houston, Texas, and I am really interested in the Evo X! I currently drive a 2002 Camry with some modifications in the handling aspect.

I just went to a Mitsu dealership today, and will check out another one next Monday. I can't wait to test drive the GSR and the MR!

Smile All the best!

Just make sure and test drive both the X GSR and the X MR. The GSR's a standard and the MR is an automatic, so choose your transmission choice carefully. I got an automatic in a different car in the past and that was the biggest thing I regretted about that car. I know that the MR is ultra high performance, but still, there is nothing like a standard stick shift. Choose the one you will enjoy and live with....And most importantly, make sure this is the car you want for sure. I'm sure you've done your research, but I would still make sure untill you are 100% confident that the car you are buying is truly special to you. Good luck man!

I test drove a X GSR a couple of months back and I was impressed. Couldn't afford $38k though. I actually wanted a X MR so that way my wife could drive it but those are more expensive. Oh well, I'm happy with my 8.

Hey man welcome! I also live in Houston and I just bought the EVO X GSR. I love the car, but the only thing I don't like is the seats. they are poorly made and falling appart ,but the warranty covers that for the next 3 year so I am not worried about it. other than that the car is lots of fun to drive and performes well so far. here in Houston the EVO's are not more than $35 k even the MR and you can negociate and bring the price to about $30 on the GSR. good luck!

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Yes, I've done research on the car. I know I just joined few days ago, but I've been visiting this site as guest and read many useful threads that you guys and other members have responded to.

But yeah, the McGinnis dealership I went to yesterday quoted me a total price of about $43,000 with HID and nav system. Most members have gave pretty good reviews on the nav system, but with the $2,500 cost + the marginal sales tax, I might have to consider Garmin as the alternative.....

$43,000 is alot of money for an Evo. I would get nervous when paying that much for that type of car. The base GSR version has a fair starting price at around $33,000. I heard that you can negitiate down to maybe the $30,000 mark or atleast the low $30's. $43,000 is too much money to pay for an Evo...For sure.

Yeah, it was actually for a GSR; I never bothered to call the sales rep back. Plus, I read the thread regarding the black list dealerships across the US, and the dealer that I went to was mentioned in that list by whoever started the thread.....so yeah
