Want to upgrade the intercooler

I was looking to upgrade to the AMS intercooler with LICP combo. I understand that for the UICP ill need a small battery kit. What is kinda confusing me is their UICP is for the stock intake manifold or they offer the UICP to fit their VSR intake manifold.

Should I just buy the intercooler from AMS and get the piping elsewhere? Right now I am basically trying to max out my stock turbo system and stock engine. Later on I plan to upgrade to a 35R turbo system and eventually drop a built 2.0L in.

Im not really sure what to do ive been looking around but havent really found the answers im looking for. The only thing i can think of is to stockpile a lot of cash and get the intercooler, piping, small battery kit and then get the VSR manifold?

If anyone can offer me any advice or drop me a link so I can read for myself in case I missed anything that would be cool to but im having a hard time finding exactly what to do at this stage in the game. Im looking to go from where i am at around 305whp to 350whp and have it dynotuned next summer.

^Are you ignorant? AMS's LICP is larger than stock so its definatly better than stock. It's just as good as Buschur's. And to the OP, just buy whatever piping you want. You can't go wrong with AMS, buschur, or ETS.

Thumbs up

I have the complete Buschur Kit. Intercooler, uicp, licp and small battery kits and I love it. No matter if you have stock turbo, like me and or even the a GT40R, what I'm going to put in next, it servers its purpose very well.

I think im just going to call BR and speak with them. They seem very friendly and ive heard no complaints about their parts. It seems almost everyone on here swears by them.

If you're wanting to retain the factory battery, we have an UICP set up for the stock battery with no modifications required. It is 8" shorter than the OEM UICP and thus will require an open element air filter (or full intake system if you prefer). It eliminates the flex hosing that can expand under boost, uses ETS 4-ply reinforced silicone couplers and all SS T-bolt clamps (others stick you with cheap worm drive clamps) to ensure blown off IC piping is a thing of the past. Here's a shot for comparison of the stock UICP, our stock battery UICP and short route UICP (both incomplete mockup pieces, not finished product) from right to left.

Additionally, going to our intercooler gets you a full 24" width core (or 22" wide with our wide-tank design) and straight connections at both the inlet and outlet paired with a super efficient and high flowing core and smooth hand-fabricated folded endtanks at killer pricing
