Is the califronia spec IX slower then other states?

My evo is a california model> Was wondering if they restriceted it more for california, and if so what they would have done? I knw their emissions tests are alot stricter. Any ideas?

well if you guys thinking about it, it is not a stupid question.
Like you are running on lower octane /so might have a different tune/ Or have a more restrictive Cat then other states. Thinking someone who new in the evo world, but know something about cars.
So i dont think the question is that stupid.

As far as i know they all have a same equipment and tune. So i don't think they are slower.
They might knock in higher boost .. /i'm just kidding /

No Mistu only did that cali spec and fed spec shi-t with the Eclipses, not the EVO's i dont think mitsubishi would have let them. The EVO X was designed in cypress california so we control the specs according to CARB ofcourse

All EVO's solid in the USA, comply with California Emission's. The only difference from State to State, is the fuel be sold.

That is why California Evos are not as good.. Because of the crappy 91 octane. My tuner said that the stock maps were meant to run on 93 octane, thats why even stock maps knock on 91 octane.

First of all, 06MRV8KILLER it was not a stupid question at all. Alot of cars have more emissions on them for the california version. Second of all, I am a NOOB to the site, not to cars. Ive owned over 65 cars and have a toyota junkyard.
