I hate to be redundant but try this, get it in 4th gear at 3000 rpm up a hill would be best and floor it. Watch the tach and speedo, tell me what happens exactly.

About to go out and give that a try now. Last time I tried it I was definately on a flat surface.

One question I had about the clutch theory. If the clutch was slipping wouldn't it slip throughout the entire upper rev range? Or is it that initial power jolt that causes it to slip then it finally catches? Anyways Im off Ill report back my findings.

K so followed your procedure going up hill in fourth gear at around 3k rpm. The car excellerated fine up the hill except it did its little rpm/boost hickup discussed in this thread at around 3.5k rpm and jumped 200 rpm the went back to 3.5k befor proceeding to accelerate normally. When performing this acceleration I was not pedal to the metal but just a nice acceleration up the hill.

You have to "Stand On It!!!" as in "floor it" "pedal to the metal" "WFO"

K reperformed task with pedal to the metal. Car accelerated as expected except at 3.5k rpm the rpms jumped from 3.5k to 4k and then fell back to 3.5k. The car then proceeded to accelerated normaly.

Word? Dang that makes me both happy and sad. Happy cause its an excuse to buy a better one + flywheel and sad cause I have to buy a better one + flywheel. So what leads you to believe its a clutch issue? Im just curious and like learning about this stuff.

yea sounds like the clutch to me. i just had to replace mine. at 3500 rpm you are hitting full boost which is the biggest load on the clutch which is why the rpms jump up quickly and then when it grabs u see the rpms suddenly drop back down.

You're early in the process of the clutch going out if you don't beat on it you could nurse it along for quite a long time. Like Eviil8 said it will just slip at peak torque for right now.
