From Cobalt SS to Evo 8?

Hello everyone. New around here.

I drive a 2007 Cobalt SS/SC with 39k miles. Mods are stage 2, 2.9" pulley (~17.5 psi), ZZP midlength header/2.5" catted downpipe, magnaflow 2.5" catback, RAW 3" CAI, torque dampner, NOS 50 shot, and a few others.

While it's a fun little car, I'm thinking of upgrading to an Evo. I've always loved them and wanted one. I'd be up for a trade in for my car. What kind of prices can I expect? What should I look for? Thanks everyone!!

I got walked by a SS a few weeks ago. I was mad at first, then I realized I was only boosting 10 psi

Welcome.

Welcome.
Same thing happen to me with a g35 few months back i was pissed..
Back on topic.. Depends on what year you want, VIII or IX. I say 15-20gs for a nice VIII 20-25 for a IX. But it all varies.

I'd say that is a good move! Not that SS's aren't decent cars... it's just the Evo's in a whole different league.

Congrats on seeing the light. Once you get your Evo there's no looking back.

+2. There is not one thing I can complain about on an evo. Built excellent from the factory, great knowledge base on evom, and the right mods can yeild amazing power. They're worth every penny.

I like the SS also, BUT I don't know why GM doesn't make the cobalt RWD. Now that would be an awesome car for the money.

Hopefully in the future. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NV8uPVUcZiY

Sorry for getting OT. lol

The car I owned before the my Evo IX was a 2007 Cobalt SS/SC. Was a decent little car that packed more punch then I thought it would. I was definitely happy with it.

I only put 14k on it, then traded it in on a brand new Evo IX MR. Since then I haven't looked back, the Evo is a better car in every way IMO.

Sorry for not using the search feature before posting.. My bad

Anyway. So you guys think I could find an Evo VIII for 15-20k? Everyone I've looked so far have said 20+ for an Evo VIII with 30k+ miles. Guess I just need to keep looking.

Thanks for everyone's input.

I came from a GTP. Lots of ZZP mods. Running about 14 psi. There is no comparison to the EVO.... Go for it you will not regret it at all.

All I need to do is find a dealership that will give me a reasonable amount for a modded Cobalt SS and I'll be joining you guys in the wonderful world of Evo's...
