Sleeper ???
I think a 500whp= Evo that LOOKS stock can be a "sleeper" when comparing it to Viper's, Lambo's and other exotics or race cars. But when comparing it to the rest of the sport compact cars or regular street cars, it's not really a sleeper at all.
Back in '03 it was a major sleeper. I had cars like Maximas, BMWs, etc. trying to pull me all the time thinking I was some riced out Honda that they were going to teach a lesson with their mid-luxes. It was fun times.
Now (like everyone's saying) you have to be stock appearing (and sounding, if possible) with a lot of power to really be slept on...

I would say by doing work only under the hood and keeping it clean of any stickers would be a sleeper look. That like a vette rolling up on you and thinking oh this looks stock, I've beaten one of these things stock before. This will be easy then.....
anyone who thinks an evo is sleeper clearly doesn't know anything about cars. people buy evos cause they are so easy to achieve power from. a sleeper is something that looks like crap, has no reputation for being fast but is fast.
Damn none of my crap looks like slow though..

Well Maybe her
I also went to the track in '04 with a Camaro that looked like a basic model - even had the basic rims on it. He had about 600hp and would totally shock anyone on the street. I think that even though those are "performance cars", they can still be sleepers. I mean who on here with a modded Evo doesn't think they'll take down a regular corvette?
I think "sleeper" means severely underestimated power. Whether it be a Hyundai or a supercharged/nitrous viper.
