Aluminum or Steel?

I was wondering if the material an LICP is made out of really a factor? I was thinking about getting the aluminum LICP but is it really worth the extra money? I know it dissipates heat faster, and is lighter and all, but the extra money can go to something else. Suggestions and opinions are greatly appreciated, thank you.

i have also wondered what is the best material to use in regards to ICPing. if you weight the pros and cons. it would seem the aluminum would be the way to go. yeah steel is cheaper, more durable (you can crank down your clamps tight as hell), but thats all it has going for it. my only worry would it corroding from the inside-out.

I voted for Aluminum. Why would want something that will weigh three times more, rust, etc. Unless your planning on having your LIP pop off or have bad fitment to the point where your LIP is going to bottom out. Then I would select steel. Outside of that we're just comparing price point, right?

We'll that will NO LONGER BE A FACTOR! Nisei Engineering has discontinued their 1018 series and increased their buying power of Aluminum. What this means is that they will be reducing their costs and passing that on to you! It's like Costco my friends, they bought in bulk so they got the discount!

Production for this new stuff has begun and we'll be getting their stuff shortly! Pm me with any specific questions. You won't believe how cheap aluminum pipe will become.

Dean,

Both options are a great choice. The part about dissipating heat faster is true to a certain extent... when does the turbo stop blowing hot air to actually let the pipe dissipate the charged hot air? If you have an intercooler doing it's job the LICP on the evolution should not matter if it's made of Alumn, Stainless, or Mild.

Thanks for placing your order yesterday! The intercooler pipe will ship out as soon as the Black Silicone arrives, it should be the end of this week or the start of next week.

For anyone else interested, we do offer Aluminum piping if you desire. The price For Aluminum or Polished Stainless Steel is $214.00. We also offer the Gloss Black and Gloss Silver for $174.00

If anyone has any questions you can give me a call or pm. We are avaiable to take calls 8am to 5pm PST. You can also leave a message if we are not here and I will call you back the next business day!

Thanks,
Michael
