The Evo has a more responsive steering but the Sti has a better turning radius. Be ready to do a lot of 3-point turns if you live on smaller streets.

veo's are garbage.
I like Evo's though.

Both the Evo and STI are excellent cars, but in a few words the Evo is more rare, has better seats, and can handle much more power with less hastle (Especially the 5-speed). All were selling points for me.

Goodluck!

Before i bought my evo i test drove the sti and put a deposit on it.I ran into a friend of mine two days before picking up the sti and he had on sti too, and traded in for the evo 9 mr.He asked me if i had driven a evo before and said no he tossed me the key's and should talk for a rip,i went around the block and came back with a bog smile on my face the next day a bought a evo 9 mr se.Now comparing the sti with the evo is night and day the sti has a aluminium block the evo has a cast iron bolck that can with stand 500whp and over 30psi with ease plus you need lot's of cash to make a sti fast wtih 1500 buck evo run 11's at the track all day,and the sti has a old man car feel to it,rather then the evo is more race car like hope this helped you decide.

i was in the same situation man. I was leaning towards the STI more because of the sound and the power but then i had a chance to drive an evo. My salesperson was an older lady at the subie dealership so she is in STI all the time. She said she was never in an evo.

The whole test drive the lady was just admiring the evo. We both pulled up with huge grins on our faces. It was truely love with the evo. I kept saying ehh with the STI and didnt witht the evo and that's how i knew.

seats are awesome and the rawness was amazing. Felt like i was in a TRUE race car.

By the way get the 5 speed evo ix (mivec ftw!). You will most likely be happier than getting a 6spd... If u go with an evo

as far as gas mileage goes, i do pretty well on the highway. i drive to and from school on 3 major roads, approx 230-250 miles each way. if i cruise at about 72-75 im at like 3400 RPMS (killer i know) but still manage to make the trip in just over half a tank of gas (full tank is 14 gallons). so all in all pretty darn good. gl again

I was once told like this:
STI = Well tuned Street car
EVO = De-tuned race car

And I agree with this view.

Some people prefer others, just what you prefer.

I like the '07 STi very much, but I like the Evo a bit better. The Evo is more raw, more sharp, more agile, and a much more emotional driver's car.....period.

If you want a car where your not going to be buying aftermarket seats, breaks and gadgets then the Evo is the way to go. It has everything done right from the start. Just needs a sweet drop and your done. I never drove the STI, but I didn't like the feel of the cheap non hugging seats, don't like the gadgets(boring) and the sti doesn't look agressive enough to me. However, everyones different. Whatever you choose, its important that you like it and not someone else.
