I think the Evo is really a niche car. They should be driven on tracks and motorsports events and it breaks my heart when they're not.

My friend's got a tuned G and he keeps saying he wants a luxury car with good sound and stuff but he wants an evo.. But honestly I think he just wants the name "evo" cuz he doesn't know 1 thing about the car except that it's famous. He wants to throw in big subwoofers and make it some luxury sports car... I really think people like that should buy something like a mazaspeed6, m3 etc.. Even STI is too good of a car to be treated like that IMO

 

Yeah, I'm definitely not gonna do that not matter what car I get. I've already decided that I'm going with Stance GR+ coilovers, TBE, intercooler piping, Top Speed tune, nice set of wheels (work emotions more than likely) and a rather nice sound system (not too flashy of course) for starters. Later some more aggressive mods wil come like; Meth injection, bigger turbo, carbon fiber bits, and a cage.

Are the IX's better than the VIII's? I noticed that the IX has mivec turbo on the valve cover, does that mean the VIII doesn't have mivec?

 

this is correct about the evo 9 it comes with mivec and he evo 8 doesn't not a big deal you csn put a set of aftermarket cams on the evo 8 and make just as much power as the evo 9 will.cams on the mivec don't make a big difference waste of money unless you go really big turbo and some headwork done.

what are some other differences between the 8 and 9? I know the front bumper is different and the 9 doesn't have a sun roof.

can anyone in the forum vouch for the sti? I found that sti's are usually cheaper than evo's. I found a 04 sti with a perrin gt30 and meth for $17k.

20, I'm tired of being in a torque-less, low a$$, slow car. Plus I'm moving to Seattle soon so I need something that can handle the snow better than my Integra.
