Why should I buy an veo?

I've had a wrx before, totaled it, and now I have a gsr Integra. The time has come for me to purchase a more aggressive ride, but I'm torn between evo's and sti's. Your opinion (though it may be bias) is important.

Because the Evo is only the greatest car in the world.

But seriously, I think you can't go wrong with either. What years are you looking at? What are your goals with the car?

I'm looking for and older GC Impreza with an sti swap or an 05 MR. I want a reliable dd that can be turned into a track car very easily. Are evo's easier to work on? I know in my wrx that I had to pull the engine out to replace the clutch.

I've had an 07 STi and I am lookin into an EVO 9 now... the fact that you owned a WRX already should make doing any work on an STi alot easier. I say test drive both cars mainly the Evo and see how you like it. Test driving an STi wont feel totally new to you if you already owned a WRX. Give it some thought and see what fits you best. Good luck.

Evos cuz if i wanted a bus i'll just take the MTA

Subaru backwards = Ur a Bus LOLOL

no seriously both can be very good DD's depending on how u treat em....imo the Evo is easier due to the position of the engine itself. the EJ boxer engine is under a buncha crap and its kinda hard to get to certain parts. imo evo's are also cheaper to mod for the same amount of hp in an STi.

the STi has a sexy *** sound though....man if you ever heard an STi with a full TBE....its like rough and awesome sex to your ears IMHO

test drive both. im sure you'll make a good decision

I've driven my friends evo gsr, and I liked it. On the other hand I've driven a 500whp gc8 too. both handled great and were plenty fast, tho the 500hp gc had a lot of lag it was still scary fast. I like the way evo's look, but you're right about the boxer engine sound, you can't beat the way it sounds.

You're going to need 2 cars then.

^ lol. that is a pretty true statement. unless of course u have a bunch of money and plenty of time to work on the car.

imo evo's are a great car cause they are affordable if u pick one up used and then it only takes about 1-2k of mods on a stock evo to create a night and day difference as far as power goes. evo's are way easier to work on than sti's

Avoid the MR 6 spd if you are really looking for a track weapon (as in road course) and probably for bowling (extra gear to pull), though I hear they are good for autox aside from the weight.

Evos are expensive to maintain as a track car. They also are hard to learn in, because they cover up mistakes and reward bad driving with fun slides.

Just drive all the cars your are interested in, and buy the one that makes you smile the most

For me, that was the Evo. I like that it is rough around the edges, and with decent tires you can feel even nook in the road.

well put. its nice to have it a little rough around the edges and actually feel the road rather than feeling like ur floating above it with no control under high speeds or hard cornering

has been covered so many times, and what i recomend to everyone is to just go out and drive both. either way you are going to get one hell of a great DD that can be used at the track. both great cars. it all comes down to personal preference. STi is tamer, more comfortable (softer seats, cruise control, 6th gear) for DD, the evo feels more rough and fun to drive. but like someone else said, nothing you can do to beat the boxer rumble. gl with the decision and take comfort in knowing that regardless of your choice you will have a awesome car.
