No EVO 03 and up was ever made in the USA. All were 100% built in Japan. Just some FYI

Nothing wong with an 03. Nothing wrong with the computer in an 03, IDK where you are getting this from, it's bad info. Only 1 recall on an 03, it was for a sticker to be placed on the underside of the hood. My car has been rock solid, and has no mechanical problems what so ever.

I love my 03...Well, that was the only year I ever had. lols. A IX turbo and a flash would be just fine. Oh, make sure the HVAC controls work.

Add a front lsd & nice clutch. Do all the fluids and tuneup. You'll be fine. Check for any leaks. It's pretty low miles so it shouldn't be bad.

Why does the ad say "LEMON LAW BUYBACK"? I would try to find out exactly what went wrong the first time they sold it. This car might be a problem. Hard to say. I would try to get the car into the hands of an independent expert EVO shop for complete inspection, etc.

This specific car might have issues. With that said, however, the 2003 VIII is, in my opinion, the very best performance car value that you can buy. Period. And yes, I do own one.

03's have an issue with 5th gear in the transmission. Not enough oil gets on it and it grinds out quicker than the others. We replaced mine with an 05 5th gear. Works great.

YES MAKE SURE THE HVAC WORKS!! Most people don't realize this when first looking at evos (I didn't) but if the temp control knob is hard to turn or stuck it costs $800 + to get fixed by the dealer. It is an actual TSB. Some people can live with it or find other ways to jimmy rig it but if you want it fixed right it will cost you. If the knob is actually broken then it can be over 1000

All that is, is either a bent cable casing or a dry cable casing. Either way all you have to do is pull the hvac panel off and straighten it and lube it. Takes 10-15 minutes and some wd40. Both my evo and ralliart were like that. Fixed both.
